Weddings at Bedern Hall are personal and authentic. We offer you and your party exclusive use of the Hall and ancillary room. Our regular team of Staff will help plan and organise your day. Our prices are may appear low, but that does not mean we are 'cheap'! Operating on a non-profit basis, Bedern Hall aims to create as much use of the building by people looking to celebrate life events in a unique venue.

We can offer a range of catering styles from canapés, through to a full waitress served seated dinner. Afternoon Tea makes a smart, informal and cost effective option too. 'The Bedern Board', our generous sharing platters are great for a more informal feel, or you might choose the 'A la Carte' option and be waited on hand and foot as our staff silver serve your meal. We are happy to design a menu with you for the day. In all cases, service, cutlery, glassware, crockery and some floral decoration is included. We have an excellent range of quality wines at fair prices, and stock local beers.

Weddings at Bedern Hall are classic, personal and authentic. Return to the little rituals that have stood the test of time and experience the best of the old and the new, enjoying a traditional feel with all the modern touches. We will help you to make your special day just as you envisage. We can accommodate 80 people for your ceremony and drinks reception and 62 people for your wedding breakfast. With over 25 years experience our small team will work with you every step of the way to ensure that your day runs smoothly. Catering is in-house using local suppliers and in summer and autumn we are able to use produce from our own gardens. We are happy to design a menu with you and are able to offer special menus for vegans and any dietary issues. For a celebration that reflects the best of you both, we’ll sit down and chat with you about how we can personalise your wedding. We’ll take care in shaping your day exactly as you wish and we’re always on the end of the phone as the preparations progress.

The best decision we've made.
We wanted to email to say thank you for such a lovely day on Saturday. Everything went so smoothly and still felt very special, even with all the face masks. Thank you Elly for being in control of everything and leaving nothing for us to stress about. We've had so many compliments about the venue and it was definitely the best decision we've made. It didn't feel like an empty hall with 15 of us and everyone appreciated the effort you've gone to.

Wow we have just had our beautiful cereomony at Bedern Hall after a very stressful few months not knowing what will happen this year. Roger and everyone at Bedern hall was absolutely perfect, the room looked stunning and you would of never have noticed anything different with the new restrictions. After worrying so much how it would work in a covid secure way and if it would spoil the day we can honestly say it did not, completely perfect from start to finish. The hard work put in to make sure it all went smoothly is so appreciated. Thank you so much for making our day in a crazy world the best ever day ❤

We can’t thank Roger and the team enough
My fiancé Andrew and I were due to get married 4th April 2020 and of course, like many couples, had our dream day cancelled with two weeks to go. We got straight in touch with Roger and the team at Bedern Hall to see what we could do to reschedule. They couldn’t have been more helpful and understanding of the situation, and our disappointment, and worked really hard to reschedule our day for April 2021. I am so pleased we can still get married at Bedern Hall, we fell in love with it straight away and it already means so much to us as it will for many years to come. We can’t thank Roger and the team enough for their support, understanding and professionalism, and dealing with one very stressed-out bride to be! We look forward to celebrating with them next year and can’t wait to get married at this beautiful hidden gem.

It was a strange time leading up to the big day, but you were constantly in contact assuring us of the measures that were being put in place to ensure the safety of yourselves and our guests. We appreciate all of the help and reassurance that you provided. We had such a wonderful wedding day thanks to you. You were all so helpful and willing to go above and beyond for us on our big day. The flowers and food provided were perfect and the service provided by your staff couldn't be faulted. All the staff are absolutely incredible and so lovely, we really can't thank you enough. We had the most amazing day, in fact I would say MAGICAL!
Bedern Hall is the most perfect venue to get married and have a reception. we got married on 1st of December 2019! we had the most amazing day, in fact I would say MAGICAL! The food is proper home cooked and all freshly cooked on the day! Roger was very flexible with our choices, nothing was too much trouble! He catered for a child vegetarians and people with food allergies! All our guests commented on how delicious the food was! The staff made sure our day ran smoothly from beginning to end! We would highly recommend having your wedding day at bedern, we couldn’t think of anywhere else we’d rather get married! Perfect venue within the city walls, we’re so lucky that we have this unique building in our beautiful city!

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

The Bride and Groom were both opera singers and arrived in glamrock costumes. The ceremony was full of songs and their amazing voices.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Keep it simple; less is more! Bedern Hall gives space for you to be yourselves, setting the right tone for sharing your day with those who matter. We will help you create a special day that stems from what’s real and from genuine values.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

We are keen gardeners and provide a lot of produce for the Hall, so we were really pleased when the Bride distributed wildflower seeds as favours; an annual reminder of their wedding day.

Pork Pie! Did you know that before restoration the Hall was part of the famous William Wright's Pork pie bakery?

The Hall dates from 1399. The space is both intimate and splendid at the same time.
