With its spacious interior and landscaped grounds, stylish décor and fantastic location, Balcombe Place is the perfect choice for couples looking for old-style country charm with something a little bit different. The house can host traditional fairy tale weddings or wild eccentric parties – or a little of both! It is a truly flexible setting with no hard and fast rules, therefore is designed to become your home from home and down to you how you use the space. With a range of talented suppliers at your fingertips, a healthy dose of creativity and the support of the Balcombe Place team, you can create the day you’ve always dreamed of. Balcombe Place has six stunning reception rooms, three of which are licensed for cilvil ceremonies. There is plenty of space within the formal gardens, all exclusively yours and ready for our style! Not only does this mean the gorgeous features can be your back drop but you can also play some croquet or even giant jenga on the lawn! We are able to cater for numbers ranging 10 - 120 guests seated together in one room and space for up to 350 people for your reception or evening party. You can have 350 all day if you wish with the use of a marquee on the lawn. When booking you will have full access to Balcombe’s very own Little Black Book of suppliers, including everything from talented caterers to entertainers and florists, equipping you with everything you need to design your perfect day within this spectacular space. You will also benefit from the services of a Coordinator who will be on-hand to offer advice, help with planning and timings and generally offer that sometimes much-needed support. “From the moment that we saw the stunning house and panoramic countryside views, we knew that Balcombe Place was our ideal wedding location. Whilst Balcombe Place is local to us, the unique and exclusive nature meant we and our guests had not had the privilege of attending an event here before. On our first visit the long sweeping drive and the flow of the rooms that make up the house sealed the deal. The ground floor is a stunning traditional English house and the guest rooms upstairs meant our closest friends and family could stay with us after the big day each in their own unique, modern en suite bedroom. The support from Emma and her team meant our plans went without a hitch on the day, and the daytime formalities gave way to a great party atmosphere until the early hours.”

“It has taken me a long time to decide what to write. I can say it in words but to write it all down it is hard to get how happy I was. We had our daughter's wedding here at the beginning of October. And so glad we had it at Balcombe Place. My husband and I walked into the house to look over it, and we both looked at each other and agreed there and then, this is where we wanted to hold the special day. And talking to Emma I knew it was going to all come together perfect. But it was beyond perfect, it was Amazing. Nothing was to much trouble. I don't think I have ever been to a wedding that has gone as well as our day. Everyone was amazed at the beautiful rooms, very grand but Very Homely. The welcoming fires and fantastic decor. We stayed the Saturday night with some guests, The rooms are amazing beautifully decorated and very comfortable. I wish we had stayed longer. Thank you Emma (amazing Lady) and everyone behind the scenes for making our day so special. Hope to see you all again soon.”

The perfect day!
We hosted our wedding celebration at Balcombe Place on 25th May 2019, and it was simply perfect. We opted to be at Balcombe for the whole weekend, which made the celebration feel like a real family affair, and like Balcombe was home. On our arrival on Friday, we had a lazy family lunch, and then pottered around for the rest of the day, slowly preparing for the wedding itself, before all dressing up for a delicious rehearsal dinner that evening. The morning of the wedding, we were able to wander through each other’s rooms for help with zips, nails and eyelash extensions, and even have a last-minute rehearsal of the bridal party walking down the aisle! After our ceremony in a nearby chapel, the grounds were the perfect setting for our drinks reception, where we had various garden games on the lawn, and our guests milled unhindered throughout the ground floor rooms to the sound of a jazz pianist in the Main Hall. We had so much space which we could make use of, with the wedding breakfast hosted in the decadent Music Room with arches through to the Billiard Room, in the Drawing Room we had the cake cutting in front of the stunning fireplace, and later the hugely extravagant cheese station, and a quieter space to sit and sip coffee in the Library. Emma really went above and beyond, both during the planning, and on the day itself, which meant we could just sit back and relax, with absolute confidence and trust in her. We would highly recommend Balcombe and Emma to anyone wishing to host any event from an intimate affair to a much larger party!
