Dorset Dubhire offer a superb selection of five beautiful classic VW wedding vehicles from the 1960s and 1970s along with a multi award winning service, throughout Dorset and the surrounding areas.
Established in 2010 and owned and run by Catherine and Jason we are a true family business. We're passionate about what we do and our vehicles really are part of the family.
Our 3 classic campervans Lulu, Lillie and Lucy each seat up to 6 passengers in bespoke, purpose built luxury wedding interiors, so are perfect for your bridal party or for the groom and his groomsmen. Painted in pale pastel or neutral tones our campers fit with all colour schemes and we can guarantee they will turn heads, get your guests talking and look fantastic in your all important wedding photographs!
We are also pleased to be able to offer our classic Beetles for wedding hire. Lilah and Libby are perfect for the bride and her travelling companion, smaller bridal or grooms' parties and for the bride and groom to travel to their reception in and offer super photo opportunities. Lilah is a multi award winning, magazine featured pale green hard top 1965 Beetle and Libby is an elegant Karmann cabriolet 1974 Beetle painted in Old English white with original high quality herringbone upholstery.
We offer a full chauffeur driven service and pride ourselves on the highest levels of customer care. Vehicles are dressed to fit in with your wedding theme-ribbons, bunting and flower garlands and our 'just married' signs are all included in our price and our chauffeurs will ensure your every need is attended to.
We are extremely proud to have achieved the title of 'best wedding transport in Dorset' at The Dorset Wedding Supplier Awards for seven years in a row and 'wedding transport of the year' for whole of the South West at The Wedding Industry Awards for four years. Owner/operator Catherine later sat on the wedding transport judging panel at The Wedding Industry Awards for a number of years.

What is your most memorable wedding?
Every wedding is memorable! The fantastic thing about working in the wedding industry is that we get to work with so many different couples who who all put their own personalities into their wedding days. This makes it a very special job, makes every day interesting and keeps us on our toes!

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make sure you do your research. You really want to ensure you're employing trusted, professional companies to be a part of your very special day.
Websites, social media and genuine client testimonials are so important and so is making sure you get on well with your suppliers and that you feel comfortable with them. When booking vehicles it's always wise to view the vehicle before making a decision and make sure the company you're booking with offer you a contract that you're happy with before putting down a deposit with them.
View any vehicles you're considering to make sure they look as good 'in the flesh' as in pictures and to see if they offer enough space for your party and your dress.
Ease of access is also important-will you be able to get in and out easily and elegantly on your wedding day whilst wearing your wedding dress, veil etc.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
So many but we particularly love it when a couples' pet is involved. We're big dog lovers and like nothing better than having a much loved family companion involved in a wedding.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Viewings are encouraged. If a couple are happy with the vehicles our booking form and terms are sent across to them so that they can ensure they're 100% happy with everything before booking.
No monies are requested prior to return of the booking form and terms. Once this is received an invoice is sent to the couple.
During the lead up to the wedding Catherine is always available to answer questions and to offer advice.
Two weeks before the wedding is due to take place Catherine will get in touch to confirm all details for the day.
Catherine will then liaise with each couple about timings so that they're entirely happy with everything before the big day!
What is the most original entrance you have given to a wedding couple?
When our splitscreen carrying the bride and her party was accompanied by dozens of bikers to the venue. It really turned heads and made for some incredible photos! We've also been involved in a fancy dress wedding at Athelhampton House which was a lot of fun :)
What is your dream car and why?
We're lucky enough to own our dream cars!
What's not to like about classic Volkswagens! We've owned VW classics for the last 18 years and are passionate about them-their sound, their smell, the way they make everyone smile no matter what age they are as they drive past. Maintaining them is a real labour of love but it's all part of the fun.
We love being able to share our passion with so many happy couples and their guests. It's a huge privilege and makes the hard work worthwhile!
What would be your No.1 tip for arriving in style?
Work with your transport supplier in advance to ensure you have an itinerary that will work well for you on your day-liaising with your make up/hair artist, photographer and venue and any other suppliers involved in your day such as content creators, videographers and planners/co ordintors.
We always advise on timings and discuss these with you before the big day. We're also very happy to chat things over with your other suppliers. Once your timings have been decided upon and everything is organised you can relax and make the most of every minute with your friends and family!
