What is your most memorable wedding?
Apart from my own of course(!), my most memorable wedding would have to be a lovely couple who happened to have 'ruins' in the garden. I drew the ruins and they featured heavily on their wedding stationery. I can't begin to imagine how magical those reception drinks would have been among the ruins during sunset!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Polite, meticulous, imaginative, creative and efficient.
What about your business are you most proud of?
Everything! I have run this business for 15 years and there is nothing I would change. The people that I meet are my favourite bit though along with creating their vision through paper and ink!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Get as many people as you can to look over the proof before it goes to print!!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I always well-up when I see a sentence on the back of the service booklet paying tribute to a loved-one that they miss who is no longer here.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Well, we usually have a good chat over the phone or in person about all the things they would like to achieve through their wedding stationery. I can either send samples or we look through my albums. Once we have a fair idea of what they'd like, I then find out the prices and get to work on the proofs. These are emailed to them and will go back and forth as many times as they like before they are ready to go to print. The next time they see the invitations is when they are unwrapping them at home - how exciting!!
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
The invitation is by far the most important piece of stationery for two main reasons. Firstly, it sets the tone for the wedding day itself letting the guest know what type of wedding they are attending and secondly, it allows their personality to shine through as a couple!
What is your best seller?
My best seller would have to be the pocket folded invitation. It is a traditional folded invitation that proudly sits on the mantelpiece but on the inside is a pocket which holds the information sheet and reply card. All neat and tidy!
