What is your most memorable wedding?
I had the pleasure of working on a wedding invitation design that was located at Hobbiton in New Zealand. Being a big nerd myself this was a very cool design brief recieve. In all honesty every design brief that I receive is exciting and memorable for me.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Illustrative, bespoke, classic, personalised, luxury
What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of my bespoke work. Every bespoke piece I work on is so special to my clients but also special to myself (I get really invested in each piece I work on!)
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Plan as early as possible and buy a good wedding planner. Being organised is key especially with wedding stationery. It's best to send your wedding invitations out as soon as you have all the relevant information to give your guests good time to book time off work, book accommodation or even save funds if its an overseas wedding.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I know I am probably being bias by saying this but I honestly have to say thats it's something my husband did for me on our wedding night. There is an ancient Japanese tradition where if a person folds 1000 paper cranes you will be granted a wish. During our evening wedding celebration I was given a blindfold and led into our room where there was 1000 cranes folded by my husband with a scroll telling me about my wish and the tradition. For those who would like to know the wish certainly came true (I like to believe it was because of this).
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Depending on location I love to meet with a bride and groom for a consultation. I think this is a great opportunity to get a feel for me as person/designer and a chance to get a up close look at a selection from our portfolio. If you aren't local an email consultation will take place instead. I work closely with couples once we start the design process to ensure you're happy with the designs throughout.
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
I personally think it's all so important but If I could only pick one it would definitely be the main wedding invitation. This is your way of letting your guests know all relevant information about your day without this your guests are none the wiser!
What is your best seller?
Definitely my bespoke illustrated designs!
How do you add romance to any wedding stationery you do?
By adding super personalised elements into the illustrations/design.
