What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It's a huge important day so make it truly personal - this starts with a Save the Date and Invite. Create something that is all about YOU that your guests will get - imagine sending one piece of stationery without your names - what symbol or icon or colour would make the recipient think that the invite was from you? This would form kind of 'branding' for your wedding celebrations.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Having a monogram (of course we created this) projected onto a castle tower in the South of France - looked truly stunning.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
At a very informal consultation, we would discuss a couples desires and listen to their ideas to understand a design-route and style and establish the best processes and materials to use. This can take an hour or two and I always suggest that clients come armed with things they want to try and incorporate (colours, styles, textures, dress photos, venue details etc - anything that they may influence the design). We will have plenty of existing examples on hand to peruse and take inspiration from (and to understand what the different processes look like). We will then create prices - showing options for additional touches as required. There may be another meeting required (again without charge) to define the finer details and then, we request a deposit and we start work! We will create a few design concepts and email these over for discussion and adjustment. We are happy to make as many amends as required (within reason of course) to ensure the design and artwork is perfect. As part of this proofing process, we often send blank material mock ups too - always useful and manages expectations well. On final approval, we start production. This will usually take 2 working weeks but can be less, can be more - this always depends on the specifications. Once in production, we keep the bride and groom up to speed and let them know when final delivery will be. Once we are ready to ship (we are happy to ship any where in the world), we request the final payment and send the stationery off!
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
All the stationery is important but to make the day most memorable, creating a specific 'identity' or brand for the wedding is important. Also, always ensure guests have all the info they need so if they are in a town/place they are not familiar with for example, ensure they have useful info like taxi contact details or where the nearest train station is - this type of info is always useful
