Full Description
Bridget epitomises the term designer/maker with an instinctive talent and curiosity that has stayed with her from her childhood in rural Hertfordshire. She studied at Watford School of Art and then at Birmingham School of Jewellery. After graduating in 1983, Bridget developed her early distinctive collections in pvc, resin and silver and sold to shops and Galleries around the world, including 'Liberty' of London. In 1985 Bridget moved to Oxfordshire and set up her first workshop 'Unikkii' on the multi cultural Cowley Road. In 2000, she formed Bridget Wheatley Contemporary Jewellery, earning a reputation for her gem set rings and her sometimes bold...sometimes delicate...but always feminine collections. Now Bridget has moved to a purpose built studio to focus on handcrafted, bespoke and small-run collections. While her style evolves and remains instinctive; her quality and wearability remains unaltered. Handmade wedding and engagement rings from collections or with a bespoke service. Using precious metals alone or combined with precious stones to make a piece that is unique for the customer. Stones can be sourced and viewed with no obligation, except a small handling charge. Stones come from UK based companies, that Bridget has been doing business with for 30 years and are ethically sourced. Collections of handcrafted jewellery with varying themes available in silver, silver with a good quality satin gold plate or both 9ct and 18ct gold. Very popular collections are: 'Amy', tiny plumb hearts as earrings and pendants and with freshwater pearls and 'Rose' collection from a small three dimensional rosebud, to a stylised, hollow rose design. Available online or from visiting Bridget's studio, bespoke available with these collections.

Superb bespoke enagement ring
Bridget made us the most perfect engagement ring for my partner. She was great to work with and a massive help in helping me to achieve the look I wanted. She was always on hand to answer any questions and make suggestions as to what might work, while still allowing me to make all the big decisions. My fiance receives regular comments on how beautiful the ring is and she simply loves it. We will be back for our wedding bands!

The perfect ring
My now husband Simon proposed to me by the Cornish sea, which was sparkling a deep blue during a perfect late Indian summer. When it came to choosing the engagement ring, I knew I wanted to have something completely unique, and I wanted it to be made by Bridget Wheatley, whose work I'd admired for years. Bridget listened carefully to what mattered to me, and together we decided on a design using a beautiful oval blue sapphire stone, set in a white gold band. Bridget made the ring, and I am delighted with the finished piece. Every time I look at it sparkling on my finger, it reminds me of the beautiful blue of the Cornish sea that day - the perfect engagement ring.

Perfect ring
Bridget made a ring based on just what I had imagined and I love it. She turned round my request with very little notice so I would have my ring in time for our wedding day. Many thanks to Bridget!

The perfect rings for a perfect wedding
Daniel knew I was a fan of Bridget's jewellery so he chose one of her creations as an engagement ring. I get soooo many lovely comments about it from people, especially as it's somewhat non-traditional. We then went back to her for our wedding rings. Mine was a simple white gold band and Daniel's a wider version with gorgeous textured detailing that Bridget has developed herself. I was 6 months pregnant at the time of the wedding and was concerned that my hands would swell and prevent me from wearing the ring. Bridget offered to make a silver ring in a larger size for me to use on the day if my hands were too puffy for the gold one. As it happened, I've been able to wear my ring throughout the latter stages of pregnancy, but it was so reassuring to know we had another option.

Bridget is a true goddess of wedding jewellery. The love, care and attention to detail she gives to all her activities is second to none. If you have a clear idea what you want or leave her to her creative best you will get a truly beautiful piece of jewellery made especially for you. I have a gorgeous ruby and gold engagement ring and gold band inlaid with diamonds that I haven't taken off since he put it on my finger! The only downside is that I now wish for a sparkly Bridget hand crafted ring on every finger and for some unknown reason he is not very keen!!

Special opal ring
I comissioned a black opal ring from Bridget this summer. She showed me a beautiful collection of stones and designed a lovely ring. I love it.
