The clue is in the name - Yourdayceremonies.
It’s YOUR special day so I curate a ceremony with and for you which is entirely built around your wishes. I’ll guide you as to all the options and components you might wish to include so that we jointly create a bespoke ceremony.
I cater to each end of the spectrum, from the more traditional style of wedding to the more zany.
You may choose to have some special moments/activities which are inclusive, so that all the guests can pour their love and support into your journey. Examples are Group Vows, which we write the guests commit to; or ring-warming, in which as the ring boxes are passes around each guest can lock in a special thought for you. With one couple we even provided a tapestry frame for each guest to add a personal stitch!
I have also designed sections of the ceremony to include children, dogs and a brass band!
I have many years’ experience of public-speaking and speech-making, having run workshops for small groups and presented to audiences of hundreds, so you can be sure you will have the exact style, tone and content that you want.
Lastly, I do this because I want to – being able to participate in and support someone’s wedding day is a special joy. I look forward to meeting you.
Every ceremony is designed completely bespoke for you. There are some frameworks we often use and co-create the content to suit your wishes. I have a lifetime's experience of addressing business audiences and running workshops so can tailor the style, tone and content to match your preferences.
I am an accredited Humanists UK Celebrant so you have the guarantee of high quaslity training underpinning my approach and also an open and inclusive attitude to the beliefs and wishes of my clients and their families. I recently married a Jewish new Yorker and Irish Catholic, neither of whom practise those faiths but whose families do. We successfully acknowledged their beliefs and included a Jewish glass breaking ritual so that the cultures were respected but with no overt religious content. In other words, it's possible to balance and respect all wishes:)
I do not work as a Celebrant for the money. I do it becauseafter a lifetime of hard work, I like being involved in happy occasiomns.
In- fact I do ceremonies for free for friends and family, so my rates to clients are fair and flexible. I typically charge £600 for the full service (10% discount for Bridebook customers) but if a client is on benefits I'll respect and reflect that in my price.
Yes, I love travel so if you're planning a wedding in Tuscany or Timbuktu then I'm your man. Also happy to travel within the lovely UK. Of course, travel costs over an hour or so would need to be discussed.
Yes. I consider myself to be an ally.
There are loads! I have a powerpoint deck of 10 which I created and can share with you but equally we can make them up! I recently married a couple who had a young baby and wanted him involved in the ceremony. For various reasons they had called him "Stitch" during the pregnancy so the bride bought a tapestry framework and guests were offered a needle and thread to put a stitch into the tapestry as a way of injvolving them all and creating a truly unique keepsake. Nice idea.
