What is your most memorable wedding?
My own wedding! We organised and hosted the whole thing ourselves. It made sure we did exactly what we wanted. An outdoor dancefloor, country music, ceremony in the sunshine and lit sparklers under the stars. It was a great day!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, Professional, Creative, On-trend, bohemian
What about your business are you most proud of?
Revel Revel all started as an idea. Now I have happy couples who have given me great reviews and knowing I have given them their perfect wedding really makes me happy!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Have a real think about your guest numbers early on. It can impact the cost of your wedding quite significantly when you think you may need to hire a larger space, cater for extra food, drink, wedding favours, etc but then there are other things you may not have thought of, such as a bigger dancefloor might be required if you are hiring one, and also wedding bands need a bigger sound system for more people etc. It can work the other way too, as some venues will have a minimum guest number, but may be swayed to host a smaller wedding during the week instead of a weekend, for example.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One bride and groom chose to get married on the same day as the brides parents, who also got married on the same day as the brides grandparents. It was such a significant date for the family, and lovely to have all the old wedding photos side by side by the wedding cake.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Firstly, it's really important that we get to know each other and see if we are a right fit for one another- it benefits us both if we are on the same page from the start of the process. After an initial consultation where we discuss your requirements and handover any progress so far, I will take a lead with regular check ins on progress and I will keep you both involved during the decision making process. We will have face to face catch ups on a few occasions in the run up, with a final meet up in the final weeks/ days to the big day. I am available on email and give my couples my phone number so we can keep in touch via whatsapp if decisions are needed on the go, or if the couple have any questions.
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
It's all about being organised and double checking information. I ask a lot of questions to make sure I am not assuming things so I am clear on what is required for the big day.
What do you love most about your job?
As above
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
One of my favourite moments was during the wedding reception when the bride and all her hens recreated thriller on the dancefloor- there was a lot of them- and they learnt the moves on the hen weekend! It resulted in the bride being spun around the floor by her feet- the dedication to her performance was brilliant!
