What is your most memorable wedding?
The most memorable wedding I have had the pleasure of creating, designing and coordinating was for a lovely couple named Yvonne & Jim, it was in their beautiful grounds surrounding their beautiful home, for me this was my eureka moment as it definitely made me realise I had made the right career move! It was the most incredible experience! I arranged everything from the marquee, catering, table scapes, entertainment and the coordination.. The clients were just amazing to work alongside as they knew exactly what they wanted and were not easily pleased. Thankfully they trusted in me and I pulled it off beyond their expectations! It meant so much to me as it was my big break!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Versatile, colourful, bespoke, unique and one of a kind!
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am proud of the fact that i never allow any two couples to have exactly the same scenario wedding, I pride myself on really getting to know our brides and grooms so that I can throw in curve balls and really develop and execute their day beyond their expectations... Attention to detail is key in my books, or else what is the point?
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
You only get your wedding day once (hopefully!) so don't ever let anyone take you both away from what you truly desire, no matter how weird or wonderful your idea is!
Your love is unique so why would your wedding be any different? It should reflect you as a couple!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I once had a groom that involved me in their proposal, my job was to open a kinder egg and place a ring and a note inside, I had then had to heat the egg to get it to stick back together and get the paper surrounding it remade to fit it perfectly back together, he then took his fiance hiking and proposed to her when she took the kinder egg out for their picnic, thankfully she said yes as the sun set and she had opened it, can you guess who had the job of making 220 kinder egg wedding favours to match on their big day? Thankfully with no rings enclosed this time..
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I always arrange an initial consultation, whether it be in person, over Skype, Watsapp or Facebook..
I will then get the couple to tell me how they met, what brought them together, and what they both envision for their big day, what they're pressure points are
I will establish what they require of me and piece together a few mood boards and scenarios for them, I will they go on mu hunt and start planning
I always allow my clients to have around the clock access to me should they need it just to alleviate any worries
I will work with them as much or as little as they need, whilst building a long lasting bond with them so they are safe in the knowledge that I care for them and only have their best interests at heart
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
A bikers wedding, at Halloween, to be honest it was quite scary and im a complete woose when it comes to scary things, it was in a haunted prison, they wanted a seance and wanted to stay in the most haunted room etc that was the wishes of the bride and groom so I had to fulfil the brief.. I ran or the hills when it was all over!
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
Communication, communication and more communication! Is definitely key here!
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
The moment the bride and groom say the famous words "I Do" and then walk into where they are having their reception, watching their faces as they walk into the room is why I love doing what I do.. its the most magical feeling, knowing you helped piece together their most important and special day yet!
