As your wedding celebrant, I write and perform your wedding ceremony.
In short, I write and perform your wedding ceremony. But in full, I get to know you both over the months leading up to your wedding, learn about what is important to you, work with you to uncover the essence of what you want from your ceremony. And from all of this I write a bespoke wedding ceremony script, help you write your vows, design a ritual that resonates with you, and on the day it’s my responsibility to make sure your ceremony is seamless. Then I perform your wedding ceremony.
No. I’m not part of a recognised belief system in Scotland that is ordained to perform legally binding marriages. And in England and Wales, celebrant-led ceremonies are not currently legally binding. If you choose an independent celebrant ceremony, then you would need to do the formal legal parts separately, which should cost around £60. But don’t let this put you off from a celebrant. This means there’s no nerves about messing up your commitments or vows (in particular the legally binding ones) and you get a ceremony that reflects you.
I’m based in the wonderful Scottish Borders, and the quick 20 minutes drive to hop on over to England gives me the amazing benefit of being able to perform ceremonies in the North of England as well. But if you really want me as your celebrant and your venue is further afield then fear not, I adore travelling and can arrange with you to be at your ceremony wherever you decide that is.
