What is your most memorable wedding?
They are all my favourites! But dry hire weddings are great because they are completely bespoke to the couple; I love weddings where the couple have little personal details woven throughout their day to represent their union. I just love love and making people happy!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, contemporary, unique, easy-going, creative.
What about your business are you most proud of?
Quite simply, all the amazing weddings I've done. Each one has been completely different and completely amazing in their own way.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't be afraid to ask for help, whether that be from a friend or family member, or a wedding planner. It's the most magical time so make sure you ask for help when you need it so you can actually enjoy it!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I'm always wowed with client’s ideas for table plans, I did a vine one once for a wine themed wedding, but I was also did a wedding once where the table plan was all of the couple's favourite gins! It was also hand drawn by the groom’s sister - it was awesome. At my own wedding, we had photos of us both as kids on the toilet doors and I mocked up signs saying 'Little Boys Room' and 'Little Girls Room'... A client then asked me to replicate that with her mum’s dogs who she'd dressed up as a bride and groom!!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I offer pick and mix wedding planning and my services are completely bespoke, so it varies depending on what the client wants/needs. Typically, they'll get in touch, then we'll either meet up in person for a drink or do a quick hello on skype. Then I'll send them a proposal, and if they're happy I'll send them a contract and an invoice for a 25% deposit. Everything is taken a step at a time and we tweak the process until they are happy - and I’m with them every step of the way.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
As a wedding planner, nothing is off bounds! The most important thing is that the wedding is amazing... I've been asked everything from sourcing a specific pair of socks for the groom to arranging to take a granny home!
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Prepare prepare prepare. Solid, constant, fluid communication is also key.
What do you love most about your job?
Ultimately, it’s all about making people happy – and I love that. There's no better feeling than seeing someone happy on their wedding day and knowing you've contributed to that.
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
Seeing the happiness (and relief!) on the new married couples face when they are announced as married, and then cheering them on down the aisle.
