What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Fun paper masks of the groom's face that all guests wore on the dance floor and creating seemingly random table names of celebrity names but which all had something in common with the groom, guests just had to work out what it was.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I believe that as a wedding planner, it’s not my job to project my taste and preferences onto my clients but rather spend time getting to know them and listening carefully to the journey of their relationship and from there, to design and deliver an unforgettable day which reflects their personalities, their preferences and their stories and which guests would all agree is tangibly “them”. I do have a signature approach to wedding planning though which I am often told is a combination of meticulous, calm and collaborative.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
A meeting at the wedding venue with Prince William's security detail as he was a guest at one of my clients' weddings
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
Top Tips:
1) Be organised – a folder, a timeline, a to do list and a budget
2) Be clear – discuss and agree what are the ‘must haves’, the ‘nice to haves’ and the ‘could do withouts’ and allocate time and budget accordingly
3) Be calm – don’t sweat the small stuff – the most important part of the day is the ceremony and the celebrations with loved ones. No one will notice if the napkins don’t match the exact shade of your earrings so don’t lose sleep over it!
4) Engage me as your wedding planner ;-)
What do you love most about your job?
Same question as above? So 2nd tip would be: Prioritise the items on budget - the must haves, the nice to haves and the could do withouts
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
I am always really moved by the arrival of the bride and the few moments we spend together with her attendants before she makes her entrance. I also often tear up during the speeches.
