Cate Reid, Marriage Officer and Celebrant

Hi My name is Cate and I am a TLC Marriage Officer and Independent Celebrant. I am sympathetic, empathic, affable and I love connecting with people. I’m conscientious, loyal and I have a strong sense of personal values and I like neatness and order and I prefer a harmonious environment, where each person can be appreciated for their contribution. Proud Mum of Jolene, Bryden and Keeven and Granny to Travis 2 years. I have the pleasure of announcing the birth of my second grandson Reggie who arrived safely into this world during lockdown - a huge thanks to all staff at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. I am the youngest of 6 daughters to parents John and Lottie (yes, 6 lassies and no boys). Sadly, my Dad passed away in September 2016 his death has played a significant part in my career change and in becoming a Celebrant. I live my partner Craig and we have a wee Jack Russel dog called Millie and we enjoy a peaceful and serene life here in Kingsbarns, Fife. I feel blessed to live in such a beautiful part of Scotland (Kingsbarns), however, I never forget my roots to the West Coast of Scotland (Clydebank), and I often return to my hometown for work, pleasure and catch up with family and friends. My career has been varied e.g. sales assistant, Early Year’s Practitioner, Bus Driver (yes double decker’s), Lecturer, Course Leader and last but not least Head of Dept for the Early years sector at Dundee and Angus College. Interestingly all my jobs have been always working in a supportive role and I love supporting people, especially during difficult times. I open-minded, curious and insightful and I have an excellent long-range vision and sensitivity. I'm deeply committed whenever I undertake a role or task and I notice things around me and generally find the deeper meanings within most situations.
