What is your most memorable wedding?
This has to be my own daughter's wedding - where I was Celebrant & Mother of the Bride. They said their vows to each other in the ceremony structure at Bradbury Glade. This ceremony was full of laughter and light hearted moments. It brought tears to the eyes of most of the guests - as it was so intimate and captured the essence of them as a couple.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
relaxed warm engaging modern professional
What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm really proud to be a warm and empathic person, which means that I can understand a couple's worries and concerns quite quickly - something which is vital when planning your dream wedding ceremony! I always listen very carefully to ideas and go the extra mile to make wishes become a reality. I am proud to be an inclusive business where everyone is welcomed equally. I am keen to incorporate elements of faith/s into a ceremony - should a couple wish to do so. Likewise, I am equally happy to not include any faith at all. My business is all about creating the most gorgeous, personalised ceremonies for my clients.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Enjoy the whole process but book the big things early - such as the venue, the celebrant and the photographer. The others can wait till further down the line.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
There are too many to choose! I suppose it would be seeing a frail grandmother escorting the groom down the aisle. The look of determination on her face, matched with the love and pride on his face was truly magical!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I get to know couples in an initial no-obligation chat. This allows us to see if we have that spark and are on the same page about their style of ceremony.
If we are all happy, I get the couple to secure their date with a booking fee and send them a fun questionnaire so that I can begin the process of getting to know them better.
Next, I will either meet them face to face (distance permitting) or on WhatsApp / Zoom meeting/s to continue to get to know them and explore exactly what they'd like to include in their ceremony.
From then on in, I begin to write their personalised script, which goes back and forth until the couple are completely happy with it.
On the day, I am there offering support in the lead up - ensuring that all is well.
Finally, I get to deliver that wonderful, heartfelt ceremony that will knock the socks off their guests.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
A walking around fire (Indian) ceremony!
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
By spending time to get to know the couple and communicating with them to ensure that what is in their ceremony script is exactly what they want. There's no surprises on the day. I'm widely know as a super-calm person so I can read people really well and give reassurance whenever it's needed.
What do you love most about your job?
I love explaining some of the ways that couples can personalise their ceremony and how they can have it anywhere. Their faces light up as they realise that the possibilities are endless!
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
When the vows are being said and there are tears in the eyes of those nearest and dearest. For me, this is a spine tingling, precious moment that's being shared by everyone...
