Amy Lee Celebrant Full Description

Hello, and thank you so much for visiting my page. My name is Amy Lee, and I am a wedding celebrant based in the west country. I write and deliver glorious ceremonies which are personalised to reflect you and your relationship.

The first thing you need to know about me is that I love being a celebrant! I first realised this was what I wanted to do after my friends asked me to write and deliver their wedding ceremony a few years ago. What a joy it was! My friend arrived at the ceremony on a homemade raft with her lovely bridesmaids, pulled along by four topless men. She then disembarked onto an intimate and beautifully decorated Wye Valley beach to meet her groom, where we had a veritable (and suitably) unique love-in.

What a ceremony! I loved writing it, I loved delivering it, and I loved how much they loved it. In that moment, I knew this was what I wanted to do for other couples.

Training with Humanists UK and becoming a humanist wedding celebrant has been my best decision ever. I have had the privilege of writing and conducting ceremonies for so many wonderful couples who allow me to tell their story and their views on marriage in a way that is not personal to them.

From the minute we first meet to that glass of bubbly after the ceremony, I support all couples every step of the way to create a heartfelt and funny ceremony that they and their guests will remember forever.

So, if you are planning a wedding and are looking for a celebrant who will bring energy, sincerity and some excellent jokes, please do get in touch! I'd love to chat to you.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

Where are you based?

I am based in Bristol, but I am from Somerset, and cover the West Country and into Gloucestershire and South Wales. Please do ask though, if you’re further away, as I am sure something can be arranged.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have public liability insurance through my association with the Humanists UK Celebrant Network.

Can you legally marry us?

Humanist weddings are still not legal in England and Wales, but Humanists UK is campaigning hard to change this. Currently you need to have a separate civil service to get the legalities out of the way. You can get officially married for as little as £58 in a registry office.  Often couples will have their civil ceremony at a date of their choosing and then have their actual wedding in front of their friends and families in their humanist ceremony. Think of it like registering a birth of a baby- they aren’t born the day their parents register them, that’s just when they did the legal part!

Where can I have my ceremony?

You can have your ceremony wherever you choose- an established venue, a private home, a farmer’s field, the beach, a pub, a bar or a village hall. I am happy to discuss any option with you, and nowhere is off the table!
