Acorn 2 Oak Ceremonies

I always thought that the ceremony was the boring part of a wedding, but not at ours! David made it so interesting and personal to us. We had a meeting with him far in advance and so he knew all about how we met, and incorporated it into a really unique ceremony. He mentioned all the important dates and people, and kept it funny and engaging without taking away from the importance and of the marriage. It was really important to us that the ceremony didn't put people to sleep but also didn't feel informal or silly, and David struck the ideal balance. It was definitely everyone's favourite part of the day, and all our guests mentioned how they loved it. If we could go back and redo our wedding we wouldn't change the ceremony one bit, it was perfect to the letter.

Our wedding was absolutely magical thanks to David! We are so glad we booked him, it was such a special ceremony and tailored specifically for us. We chose the traditional ring exchange, a handfasting and a final blessing. It was 30min long. We wanted to include some specific bits, for example we used something that belonged to my late grandmother for the handfasting and he told our guests our love story. Also, my husband has a little girl and we wanted to make her part of it, so David gave her a lovely role in the ceremony which we adored. What I particularly loved about our ceremony is how much more special and personal it was than other ceremonies. David interpreted what we wanted perfectly, he captured our style and he understood what we wanted to share with our guests. Our guests loved it and at no point did the ceremony drag or feel like it was too long. It felt exactly what the union of two people in love should feel like, that’s the only way I can describe it. Communication was excellent from start to finish, David guided us through the design of our ceremony and suggested poems, readings and music. We never felt like we were alone, at any point we could ask him anything and he’d answer promptly, he was always helpful. Thank you for making our day so wonderful and memorable!

We were fortunate to work with David Wills as the celebrant for our wedding in Oxford. My husband and I live in Australia but have strong connections to the UK so chose to work with David as we planned our wedding from overseas. David worked through the preparation with us. He was a patient guide to various options in terms of how we might conduct and tailor our ceremony. We were able to integrate our daughter into the ceremony at David’s suggestion - this was very important to us. On the day David was a wonderful celebrant, the ceremony was beautifully conducted and David calmly guided us throughout. We would highly recommend David, he made our special day truly special!

We weren’t sure what to expect when booking a wedding celebrant, we just knew we wanted a more personalised ceremony and somebody more flexible than the typical registrar. From the initial zoom meeting with David we got such a warm feeling from him and knew he was the right choice. We really enjoyed planning our ceremony with him over the months & it was a real bonus to have him helping with the ceremony music, timings, etc. We have just received a pack post-wedding containing our commemorative certificate, and the printed ceremony word for word which has been lovely to read back. David provides so much more than just the delivery of your vows and we can’t recommend him enough!

These attributes were confirmed quickly after our initial meeting. David was thorough and promised to deliver a ceremony tailored to our love story and his flexible approach allowed us to have control on the style of reading that we wished. David was punctual with all the deadlines of preparation prior to the wedding and meant there was zero stress leading up to the day. The ceremony ran extremely smooth on the day and this was thanks to David briefing both parties and ensuring everyone who had roles were fully briefed prior to the start. The execution itself was spot on and we could not be any happier with how it went. We had many complements about David and the different aspects of the ceremony, for example the handfasting. A few weeks later, David sent our wedding script in the post which was a nice touch.
