Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, Honesst, Creative, Friendly & Fun!
What about your business are you most proud of?
The fact that I get to do something I genuinely LOVE as my job. It's taken alot of hard work to make photography my full-time career, but I couldn't be happier or prouder of what I have :)
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do things YOUR way! Although weddings are steeped in tradition, if you don't want to do something, then don't do it! Don't be swayed into things just to please friends & family either, it's your wedding day, and you only get to do it once (hopefully!).
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Anything that reflects something about the couple and their personality/interests. Anyone can plan
'a wedding', its the things that make it 'your wedding' that I love the most.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Firstly it starts with an e-mail for my availability and some info about your day. Once I've replied to say I'm free, we'd either arrange to meet or have a Facetime/Skype call if your far away. I think its important to meet, so we can find out if we're going to be a good fit for each other before you book.
From then, you'd fill out a booking form and pay a deposit. This secures the booking and your date in my diary. We'd then have another meeting nearer the day (or tie it in with a pre-wedding shoot) to discuss final timings, group lists etc ahead of the day. After the day itself, I aim to have a few preview images with you within a day or two of the wedding. After that you can expect to receive all the images within 4-6 weeks.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Even if you really don't like having your photo taken and want mostly natural & candid photos; thats totally cool but do allow some time alone to have some couple shots. They don't have to be posed or cheesy (I hate cheesy photos!) but I think a few good couple shots are essential.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Bring an umbrella! After all, we live in England, so there's always a chance of rain. It's not something that phases me, in fact I've made some of my favourite photos on cloudy & rainy days. It's very rare that it'll rain ALL-DAY too, so theres always a compromise to be made...
Describe how you got into photography.
I've always been a creative person, which began with drawing as a child. Unfortunately my imagination began to expand faster than my drawing skills, so I took to photography to fill that creative void. I'm also a hugely sentimental person and love to document and keep everything! Because of this, photography is a perfect medium for me to preserve things forever!
