Full Description
To me wedding photography is storytelling. I tell the story of the couple and their love for each other. I capture the personality of both the bride and the groom. This is done in a relaxed and natural way, no forced posing, just being yourself, people in love. This style is commonly known as reportage or documentary wedding photography and I love it. I love weddings. What I love more is shooting a wedding. I get a huge buzz from watching the day unfolding and capturing it with still images. I get excited about showing these to the couples and allowing them to relive the day through my images. I’ve been lucky enough that my passion has taken me to some of the world’s remotest and most beautiful regions but I have always returned to my home in the South West. Perhaps I’m biased, but I feel there’s something special about this region that’s hard to describe. It’s certainly a great place to get married. I should know – I tied the knot in 2014 in the grounds of the Somerset castle where I had lived for nearly a decade (long story)! I now live in a village in the South West with my wife Holly, though most weekends I’m somewhere else in the South West, capturing someone else’s special day. It’s one of the many things I love about this job – the constant excuse to get to know this stunning region and the people who live here. When I’m not working you’re most likely to find me wild-camping on Exmoor, surfing with old friends in Cornwall or exploring further afield in our van. If these sound like the kind of things you enjoy too, it’s likely we’re a good fit. I would love to hear from you so please get in touch.

Perfect Elopement Memories
While organising our elopement, looking for a photographer, Tom came highly recommended to us. As time went on and we spoke to other vendors and mentioned who we had as our photographer it only became clearer we had made a great choice, everyone had only the greatest praise for Tom. After having chatted over video call with Tom we had our day planned out. Tom was easy going, knowledgeable and immediately understood our aspirations. We knew we were eloping at what could be a difficult time due to COVID, and unfortunately our plans had to change last minute. Tom however was a life saver and truly flexible. In what could have been a difficult situation he once again put us at ease and ensured our day would go seamlessly, we will be forever grateful to Tom for this. We got to see our sneak peak photos and were so excited we left late for work that morning just to look through them first. And we're so glad we did. The photos are unbelievable. They are exactly what we'd hoped for, natural and in the moment. And Tom has given us what will probably be the best photos of us we will have for the rest of our lives!

Perfect photos!
Gareth and I just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to Tom for doing the photography and videography for our wedding. Tom and Jake were amazing, they felt like part of the wedding rather than someone on the outside if that makes sense. We didn’t want anything too forced for the photos but equally didn’t want to miss out on getting some great photos and they struck that balance really well and helped direct guests when they needed to as well. We really felt that they listened to us in all the meetings we’d had before and they also gave some great tips. We hadn’t planned on doing sparklers before speaking to him a few weeks before the wedding but after his suggestion we are so glad that we did - it’s one of our favourite photos from the day so far. There are not enough words for our gratitude!

Fantastic photos to treasure
As ours was an elopement our number one priority was having quality photos for those not present to be able to get a feel for the day. Toms portfolio speaks for itself but it’s also beneficial that he is pleasant and approachable. Having an intimate ceremony, you have to be mindful of who is present. Tom wasn’t intrusive while remaining engaged and instinctively worked around those present. I felt the photos reflected the tone perfectly and were tailored to Dom and I. He was able to catch the details of the day . As we aren’t local his knowledge of the most picturesque locations was invaluable. On a different note, Tom also happened to save the day (I had a zip crisis) all while remaining calm (which helped me immensely) and appropriately capturing the story. I can’t stress enough how important it is to not worry about the outcome and knew the quality of his work wouldn’t let us down. I wouldn’t hesitate to whole heartedly recommend. Worth every penny! Quite seriously book

Amazing photos
Tom made us feel relaxed and at ease throughout the day, and the images he was able to capture are amazing. They tell the story of the day and have brought a tear to the eyes of our family and friends. He was professional and informative on the run up to the day, and fully understanding of last minute changes due to COVID restrictions. We would highly recommend him to anyone getting married in Cornwall.

From first consultation Tom showed his dedication to his work, not only by scoping out locations and providing ideas he continually offered guidance and support throughout the whole experience. Best wedding pictures ever
We can't thank Tom Frost enough. He was funny and kind and worked with us to produce an amazing set of photos for our wedding. Tom made sure that we both knew the locations and shot list for the day, as well as asking us what we wanted, what sort of pictures we liked and things we definitely did and didn't want. His portfolio is beautiful and his ability to capture the drama of nature alongside the intimate moments made us know he was the photographer we wanted for our wedding. We weren't disappointed! He gave us so many pictures that we love, some of which captured truly special moments that we didn't even know he took. He made us comfortable and made our wedding special, taking us around the local area to beautiful spots that now forever are special to us. Tom worked with Boho Cornwall to give us a truly special day. I can't recommend enough. Our friends have said our wedding photos are #weddingphotogoals and the most beautiful mix of landscapes and intimacy they have seen.

FAQ

What is your most memorable wedding?

Sam and Joe. This was an elopement down in St Just in Cornwall. It was a stunning and special moment. With only the couple, two witnesses the registrars and me! This was a special moment that I was so very privileged to have witnessed. We then explored the coast and captured some very romantic and wild moments.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Natural, Relaxed, Romantic, Creative, Stylish

What about your business are you most proud of?

My reviews. I am very proud of my reviews and the comments that are shared by my couples that I have worked with. I am proud of my lasting impression and the impact of my work on the couples that I work with.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Saturate yourself in the day. Try and take five minutes every hour to just take stock of what is happening, the day goes quick so you need to slow it down.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

When the groom took the microphone and brought out a guitar I thought that was it. But this was an amazing performance that touched me and all the guests. With an honest and beautiful song about his new wife.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I like to arrange a time via email to have a chat over the phone before booking me along with a Skype chat. It's important to get a to know your photographer as well as you can. Then I like to arrange a meeting at the venue if possible where we can discuss the details of the day and learn a little more about one another. When the couple are happy to book me I take a £250 deposit and maintain regular contact with them up until their wedding day.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

That is completely dependent on the couple. I would say that the number one photo will be revealed after the wedding. This may the first look or during the speeches. It's not a scripted image but a moment that captures the day in one frame.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

The bride riding a large horse after the ceremony.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Umbrellas. Rain is rain. As long as you have everyone you want there and they are enjoying themselves then that is all that matters. The rain adds drama it's a challenge that you will have to face as a whole wedding party. Some of my best shots have been during this type of wedding.

Describe how you got into photography.

My sister asked me to cover her wedding as a wedding present in 2007! This was my first wedding and it was a little stressful. I had been shooting artistic landscapes and seascapes for years before trying to capture something special to provoke emotion but I realised that this could be easily done at weddings and provide me with immense emotional rewards.
