What is your most memorable wedding?
All of my couples have been unique and so they are all memorable to me for different reasons. I am a huge dog lover so I will always remember the wedding with the dog who barked when asked if there were any reasons why this couple should not be married. I will always remember the bride who gave me three little bags of sweets to take home for my children. The couple who had written almost the exact same speech just showing how in sync they really were.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, relaxed, creative, documentary, can I say fun again?
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the relationships I have built. Becoming a part of a families story is such an amazing feeling. From them getting married and then having the opportunity to capture the story further as they grow as a couple or as their family grows. It is such a privilege.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do what you feel is right for you both, after all this is your wedding day and not anyone elses.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One wedding had photographs pinned on the wall as a timeline of the couple. From baby photos to how they first met, their dates and adventures. I just really loved that it told their story.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I like to meet my couples either face to face or on zoom. It gives us a chance to talk and find out a bit more about you and what you do and do not want. After this most couples book in a couple shoot. This can be at your chosen venue, in the studio or at any location you would like. We work together and I find this helps couples to feel more relaxed on the day. I am always available to meet or discuss anything with my couples and some do contact me more than others. Any excuse to meet for cake! I will send a questionnaire ahead of the wedding to learn more about the shots you would like on your day. I usually speak to my couples a few days before to run through any last requests. Then we have lots of fun on your day, letting you spend time with your guests and capturing those all important moments too
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I don't think there is because every couple is unique and it should therefore be down to their style and what they feel comfortable in capturing
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
I love reflections so rainy days means puddles and these can create some amazing photos. I also always carry an umbrella so we can still get photos even in the wet!
Describe how you got into photography.
Photography has always been a passion and hobby of mine. As a child I used to love buying disposable cameras and taking photos of family and friends. I was the kid on school trips taking photos of everything. My Grandma and Grandad bought me my first camera and showed me what film to buy and how to load it into the camera, then came the cameras where you dropped the film in and finally digital cameras. The rest as they say is history......
