If the thought of being photographed makes you a little nervous, you’re in good company. You don’t need to know how to pose or what to do with your hands. I’ll help when you need it, make time for some lovely photographs together, and let you enjoy your wedding.

I’m Michael Gane, based in Beckington, near Frome in Somerset. After more than thirty years photographing weddings, I still love being there: meeting people, noticing the little things and capturing a day that means so much to everyone involved.

What matters to you?

Perhaps it’s having all your favourite people together. Perhaps it’s seeing each other at the ceremony, hearing the speeches or finally getting onto the dance floor.

You don’t need a perfectly styled wedding to have beautiful photographs. Your people, your expressions and the way you are together give me plenty to work with.

Most of my photography follows the day as it happens. When we take your couple portraits, I’ll give you enough guidance to feel comfortable, without making it a performance.

Then you can get back to your guests. You’ve invited them for a reason, after all.

Someone you’re happy to have there.

Your photographer is around during some quite personal moments. It matters that you feel at ease with them.

I like a laugh and a proper celebration. I’m equally happy working quietly while you’re getting ready or spending time with family. Experience helps me judge when to step forward, when to help and when to give you space.

You’ll deal directly with me, from your first enquiry through to receiving your photographs. Each image is carefully selected and finished, then delivered in a private online gallery.
