What is your most memorable wedding?
I recently photographed a full day wedding for a couple with various disabilities, the groom in particular was given a very reduced outlook for life when he was younger, he has since gone on to meet his bride and defy absolutely every medical hurdle put in his path! I was incredibly humbled to be a part of their special day, a day many of the groom's family never imagined would come along.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, candid, fun, relaxed, non invasive
What about your business are you most proud of?
It's success. It was rather nerve wracking giving up a full time job role all those years ago and taking a chance on myself and my work. Now I wouldn't change a single thing, I am very proud of my accomplishments and very proud of my team.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Enjoy it! Planning a wedding can often become quite stressful, remember it's your day and a day for you to remember.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
At a recent wedding my favourite touch was to see the most beautiful flowers carefully grown by the groom's mum used as their centre pieces.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Lets have a chat! Establish the budget and package you're looking for.
Contract signing, Booking form/ Questionnaire
Meeting around 1-2 months prior to the big day
Always on hand to answer any questions
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Photographs together, just the two of you. Even if you're not big on posing...its wonderful to take 10 minutes away from the crazy of the day and say hi to each other! We can use this time to grab a couple shots of the two of you as a married couple, as relaxed and unposed as you like
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
To lean out of a hotel window and grab a large group shot of guests surrounding the bride and groom's beloved Subaru (car)
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
A positive mind! We keep our clear umbrella in the boot of the car so that in the unplanned event of rain we can still grab those gorgeous photographs of you both!
Describe how you got into photography.
I (Sophie) spent many years photographing landscapes in and around the south west, I happened to meet another photographer who urged me to give photographing people a try, and I never looked back! Since creating the business 6 years ago we have grown in size and become a little network of photographers all with a shared passion and love for what we do.
