Summers Photography Full Description
This is where we could go into a dreamy paragraph or two about why you should book us as your wedding photographers, but rather than reading why we think are awesome, read it from our real life couples instead! CLIENT TESTIMONIALS: Amy - Cantley House Bride 2021 - Having Stephanie and Steve as our wedding photographers was fantastic. They were professional, yet fun and friendly at the same time. Even when trying to dodge the showers they managed to organise us to get all the photos we wanted. Harriet - Wasing Park Bride 2021 - This Sunday just gone we were lucky enough to have Stephanie and Steve as our wedding photographers and oh my goodness, they were amazing. Both made us feel so comfortable and relaxed even whilst dealing with some difficult family members! I was so grateful to have them as a calming presence during what sometimes felt like a bit of an overwhelming experience! All in all they made the day amazing and allowed us to enjoy! I can’t thank you both enough and cannot wait to see the magic you created and captured!! Thank you!! Laura - Foxhills Bride - 2020 - Steph and Steve and the best photographers I have ever met. They provided the wedding photography for our wedding day and as someone who hates having their picture taken, they made every moment enjoyable. All of our guests commented on just how great they were. They are both so warm, friendly and constantly smiling which is just infectious. We had the pleasure of Stephanie and Steve being our wedding photographers to capture our big day! We'd met them at a wedding fair, and clicked immediately. So easy to get on with, and really understanding of what we were hoping for. It wasn't just the day itself, it was the lead up to it with zoom calls, meeting up, a pre-wedding shoot, and many emails! Nothing was ever too much! It was like having our own wedding planners On the day itself they were incredible, they managed everything and e

Creating the fun for forever
As a bride, on your wedding day, there are 4 key players you have to get on with. They are your planner (if you have one), your toastmaster (if you have one) your make-up artist and your photographer. Well, you couldn't choose a better team than Summers Photography. They are not only great photographers, but they are a blast to work with. Creative when it comes to the couples shots, efficient when comes to the group shots and unobtrusive when it comes to the reportage. From a co-supplier point of view, they were also a pleasure to work alongside and have the same ethos that I do. "Let's make the day the best day it can be for the couple." Utterly professional and great fun for all ages. I hope we get to work together again soon.

Frequently Asked Questions
(10)

What is your most memorable wedding?

Too many to mention! From the bride walking into a cathedral, choir singing as she walked down the aisle gave me goosebumps, to the beaming smiles and laughter of our couples as they say their vows, to tiny little paige boys dropping wedding rings, to bride and groom launching themselves onto their bouncy castle, to the countless dogs and horses we have had at weddings; there are some amazing memories.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Colourful, relaxed, fun, engaging and vibrant!

What about your business are you most proud of?

That we continued to support our couples throughout Covid with regular updates and continuous monitoring.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Book your photographer early! We tend to book 18months - 2 years in advance. Photography aside; try not to sweat the small stuff - enjoy and trust the process!

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I recently saw a cocktail company print on top of cocktails the couples initials and I still am wondering how they did it to this day! Anything that is unique to you, celebrates your personalities and has that wow factor is always a sure fire hit.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Our process with couples can last years! That's why we encourage our couples to meet before to ensure we are all on the same page. Most tend to book up to 2 years in advance, we have initial talks, contracts, sporadic planning emails and final planning meeting 1 month prior to the wedding. We know each other really well by then! After the wedding, we curate your images, create previews and send your gallery. You choose your favourite images for your chosen product and then we remain friends on social media!

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Please carve the time for couple portraits and a FEW family groups. It's the day of best versions of yourselves and your guests and is so key to commemorate this happy day with your loved ones in a group photograph. They will be treasured for decades.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

We had a lovely bride recently who had a collection of brooches and pins for her bouquet that all meant something to her, as well as a few tattoos that she had on show in her dress design. It was really special as all the tattoos had deep family meanings and was a lovely page in her album. It's all part of her story of where she is today.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Welly boots and get those brollies out! We are more than experienced to know that the British weather is not always on our side and have been known to keep up to 10 white umbrellas in the boot of our car even over the summer months. We do encourage if it is a light mist outside, but if it's pouring, we bring the studio lights to keep you warm and toasty for your photos indoors.

Describe how you got into photography.

My father and grandfather both worked in newspapers for decades and I was taken round the camera shops when I was a teen to look at the lenses in the shops! I was always creative and won my first photography competition in 2000 of the local areas calendar for the millennium and decided that to work experience in Scottish newspapers. I photographed Scottish MP's and footballers at the age of 14/15 and fell in love with the art form. Years later, I teach photography, have photographed hundreds of weddings and still get the same buzz today when I pick up the camera.
