What is your most memorable wedding?
I have so many but a Wedding I shot recently was so much fun! The Bride and Groom even had me sit at the top table with them to eat my dinner!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Romantic, Powerful, Elegant, Alluring, Personal
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am proud to be chosen to capture such a huge life event such as a wedding. I am married myself and I find myself in the moment with each and every wedding I capture.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Meet the vendors who will be part of your wedding day. From the Florist, The cake maker and especially your photographer. It's so important to have a great relationship with them so your wedding and the months in the run upto it run nice and smooth and stress free.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I have shot so many Weddings now it's hard to pin point just one. Little memories of loved ones that are no longer with the couple are always lovely to see at weddings.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After the couple get in contact with me and we discuss venues and dates, I then schedule a meeting. This is a great way for us to get to know one another and see if we are a good fit.
The more comfortable you are with your photographer, the more natural and relaxed your images will be. At the first meeting, we will discuss your wedding, colours, flowers and just chat about general things. I will also showcase some wedding albums that show a full days wedding.
I like to keep in contact now and again until our final meeting. The final meeting takes place around one month before the wedding and this meeting is about finalising times and any special photo requests the couple may have. the final meeting is also when the balance is due.
One week before I will visit the venue and suss out the best areas to take images. I also check on weather updates as you can never tell when it will rain (especially in Britain!)
On the day of the wedding I will arrive and start capturing the bride/groom getting ready. This is one of my favourite parts of the day as everyone is so relaxed and it's lovely to meet family and wedding party members. I will be capturing images from the preparations right up until after the first dance.
The next few days after the wedding I will showcase one or two images, this is a little teaser for my couples and also a great way of generating more business. I welcome recommendations and it's by far the best marketing tool. Around 4-6 weeks I will set up a private online gallery for my couple and they can view their images from the comfort of their own home. I will make up a usb and deliver it to them. Any additional products ordered would mean another meeting, such as wedding albums. I am there every step of the way for all my couples, past and future. There are many couples that come back once they have a baby too!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A natural laughing moment. As adults, we are critical of ourselves and being naturally happy is just beautiful.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I have been asked to take images of the bride and groom having a race through a bouncy castle!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Umbrellas! Stormy weather is dramatic and I love these images.
Describe how you got into photography.
My family are all photography lovers but I never started my business until my Husband Jon bought me my first DSLR. I built up the business six years ago and I am proud of what I have achieved but I have so much more to offer and I would love to be worldwide one day in the future.
