I keep my photography style as natural as possible. I try to create images from a spectator’s point of view and in an unobtrusive manner. My main aim is to create a narrative of the day so I am constantly on the lookout for characters to help build the emotion and give depth to the story. I also like to take time out with the couple and create some natural portraits. I try not to overly complicate the session and keep it as simple as possible.
So what type of photography do I offer? Well I offer a mixture of traditional and documentary. Social documentary, reportage, candid, photo-journalistic or storybook wedding photography are just some of the titles used to express the photography type. I sometimes use all of the words to describe my style of wedding photography. It doesn’t really matter. I approach the day to document it as it unfolds. I really enjoy blending in and capturing the little moments of interaction, fun and laughter. These are the shots I am always looking for when I approach a wedding . I love the fact that I can stand out of the way, sometimes behind a wall or hedge to take the photographs. At other times I am right in the middle of the action and it is great that nobody seems to notice me and I am able to capture those moments. I get a real buzz at these times and lose myself within the work. It is great for the bride & groom to look back on their day through my images. The images, as well as the memories will be the link back to their special day.
