Simon Ward Photography Full Description
We photographed our first wedding back in 2009 with the belief that couples should have the freedom to choose their own wedding photography package. To this day we remain true to this belief. We are the original Salisbury-based photography company where you choose your ideal coverage and presentation for your wedding, so instead of “Gold, Silver or Bronze packages” we meet, discuss and plan a bespoke wedding photography service just for you. After all, it’s your wedding so we believe you shouldn’t be forced into a one-size-fits-all photography package. This means that with us you only pay for the wedding photography coverage and presentation you really want and with our wedding photography on average costing between £750 and £1,500, bespoke doesn’t have to mean expensive. Our photography style is informal and relaxed, we're guests at your wedding as much as everyone else. We capture the real essence of your day without taking over your day. We include so much as standard including a password-protected online gallery, mobile phone app, mid-resolution CD or USB Folio, a pre-wedding photoshoot and more, and because we are bespoke if this is more than you would like don't worry because our service is a flexible as it is affordable. However you may have other ideas for your big day, that's perfectly fine, we always look forward to discussing couples' ideas. We are booked up far in advance and in most cases at least 12 months before the big day so contact us ASAP to arrange your wedding meeting at our Salisbury studio.

Others wished their photographer had been like me
"Simon photographed our wedding and has been absolutely fantastic from the outset. Helpful, friendly, professional. Many friends commented they wished their photographers had been like him as he went above and beyond to capture the moments we wanted. He was also brilliantly patient with the little ones and just made everyone feel at ease. The signed wedding frame is also a lovely touch to be able to take home straight away. We can't wait to see the full gallery and I can't thank Simon enough. 5* service. Would recommend to anyone wanting a professional photography service."

From the beginning he made us feel at ease...
"Simon photographed our wedding back in September this year. From the very beginning he made us feel at ease and nothing was too much trouble. We had lots of questions which he was able to answer and made suggestions to make our day run smoother. On the day he was fantastic. When we needed certain photos done he was there to sort it out. He did it so well we didn;t notice him in the background. The signing frame was a lovely touch. Everything since our wedding from our photo viewing and ordering our products we are 100% happy with the servicewe got and the quality of the photos were second to none. Thank you so much."

He was invaluable in the run up to the wedding...
"We had Simon do the photography for our weding back in June and we highly recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer for thiers. Not only did he take some great photos but he was invaluable in the run up to the wedding with his knowledge and advice on how to make the most out of our special day. He is very easy to get along with and blends in with the guests so you don't event notice he is there much of the day. Gives lots of his time going over things to make sure its right for your needs. Does a great all round job."

I was dreading the wedding photography...
"We used Simon for our wedding photography and have since started using him for our business portfolio pictures. The wedding photography was the one part of our wedding I was dreading. I hate being photographed and always look awkward in photos. Simon was absolutely second to none. He is an extremely professional and outstanding photographer. Much more than this he is a very liekable man which made it easy for me and my wife to relax. The photos he took were absolutely stunning, no awkward shots as he put us at ease and they came out completely natural. Cannot recommend him highly enough for your wedding or corporate photography. In our mind not just the best photographer in Salisbury, the best photographer full stop.

Brilliant guy to work with and amazing photos
"Simon photographed our wedding back in March this year and we were so pleased with what we captured. For the most part we completely forgot Simon was there, which he himself told us was the aim in order to capture lots of natural photos and he executed it brilliantly. Although this review was much later than I intended, I absolutely had to write one. We would recommend Simon for any photography needs. We will certainly be using him again when we want our family photos taken. Brilliant guy to work with and amazing quality photos which is only enhanced by the great photobook options."

It felt like having a friend taking the photos...
"Thanks so much for everything you did for our wedding. We absolutely love the images and you made the process so easy. As you know, Michael is not the most natural in front of the camera but you really made him feel at ease and you completely exceeded our expectations of what a great job you have done. It felt like having a friend taking the photos rather than someone we'd just brought in. Thanks again!"

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your most memorable wedding?

A wedding whereby the bride arrived by boat in the grounds Ardington House in Oxfordshire. The ceremony took place on a small island.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Relaxed, unobtrusive, attentive, documentary, candid.

What about your business are you most proud of?

The testimonials we've received and our 'Finalist in Customer Service' award in the 2015 and 2018 South Wilts Business of the Year Awards.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Book your most important suppliers early. The best supliers are almost always booked up about 12 months in advance.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

It's all about building a rapport with my couples. Couples need to be able to trust and depend on their photographer. Regular meetings, pre-wedding photos and simply being at the end of the phone or email to answer questions is key.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

A relaxed and informal shot after the main part of the day is done. I call it taking some time out during the madness of the day.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

A bride & groom asked me to create a kissing scene where they lean into each other and in the background is their wedding party.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

At least one umbrella and a good sense of humour!

Describe how you got into photography.

Photography was my hobby that developed into a business in 2009.
