What is your most memorable wedding?
I have shot for clients in Italy, Portugal, Dubai, Malaysia, Spain etc but I try always to make my next wedding shoot the best .
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Magazine Editorial, with a Fine Art touch and a little photojournalism always some black and white images
What about your business are you most proud of?
Absolutely 100% customer satisfaction
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Use established professionals and look for:- Subtle use of flash (no harsh shadow lines), nice balanced composition. Sharp where they should be. Ok arty blur is fashionable but you shouldn't call a bad shot "Art" in my opinion. Look for nicely observed images and remember a beautiful location shouldn't sell a sloppy shot.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Bride and bridesmaids carefully choreographed dance at reception.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once a couple have seen my portfolio and like the style of images I will then meet with them or talk on the phone. Very often they are keen to complete the booking straight away.
I am always available for discussion, advice and questions at any time before the day and I always call the couple before hand to check on everything.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
All images from the day are important. I think the most significant image will be during the ceremony or couples shots when you can tangibly feel the love between them as the look into each others eyes, when they are oblivious to anyone other than each other. These are the moments that I really love to capture.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I have never been asked specifically to take any unusual image. I constantly try to take both striking and subtle images often in original ways but the shot must work and look right.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Lots of umbrellas - either colourful or all white and make a feature of the weather.
Describe how you got into photography.
I started photography professionally at The Guardian in 1999 before many years as an agency and international magazine photographer - I was even an official Royal Photographer at one point.
