What is your most memorable wedding?
Every wedding is different and as so every set of images I produce are unique to the couple, for me to say which wedding is my favourite would be difficult, but I do love summer weddings when you have time to get some great natural light shots.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, Creative, Friendly, Natural, Humorous
What about your business are you most proud of?
The referrals and unsolicited reviews I get from happy couples.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Discuss with your photographer the group shots (if you want them), as these can really eat into your day if you want too many. I normally take a large shot of everyone at the wedding straight after the service, so that the guests who won't be in other shots can go and have a drink and relax, and are not hanging about.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I meet the couple for an initial consultation, go through my style and what they want or expect from a wedding photographer. If they like my work and book me, then I set up a Pinterest board, for me to pin shots I take at other weddings that I think similar shots may work at their wedding, based on the venue etc. I would then meet up with the couple again one month before the wedding to go through timings and any specific shots they may want.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I love detail shots, bouquets, shoes, rings etc. A lot of thought goes into planning a wedding so if I can capture most elements I feel that I have preserved the memories of the special day.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
The whole wedding party on a vintage tractor!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Umbrellas and wellies!
Describe how you got into photography.
I started photography when I was in my early teens, I used to have to have a darkroom at the bottom of my parents garden where I would develop and process my own prints, before the age of digital.
