Full Description
All of my wedding photography packages include all day coverage. I don't want you worrying about a time limit when you work with me, I'll start early in the morning with the preparations for the day and stay through to your first dance ensuring I capture the party atmosphere at the end of the day. I don't limit the number of photos you receive either, you will receive all your photos from the day, beautifully edited and high resolution. If you choose to include an album we will work together to create a family heirloom for you to treasure. It's your album so I want you to have the final say on what's included. I work as unobtrusively as I can at your wedding, yes we will probably do a few posed couple photos as your family will want these for their mantelpiece but the rest of the day is relaxed and candid. If you’re looking for a photographer who is excited about your wedding as you are then I may be the perfect fit. I'll be full of questions about your day, what's your theme? Do you have outfits picked already if so can I see them? If you have a Pinterest board I'd love to see it and we can plan any wow photos you really want. I regularly help my couples find other suppliers to be part of their day, I am genuinely excited about weddings and love to be a part of them. On your wedding day it's self I am primarily there to photograph your day but if you need help, I will, of course, help you once I've got the photo. I'm often buttoning up bride’s dresses, pinning button holes and folding pocket squares. My rucksack is packed with plasters, sewing kit and often the bride's lipstick. If I can make your day less stressful I will. If I sound like your kind of photographer get in touch and we can arrange a no obligation conversation about your wedding day and see if we can work together.

Just did the perfect job
My new wife and I booked Emma for our wedding in October and we're both so glad that we did! Emma was professional throughout, keeping appointments, answering our (stupid) questions gladly throughout and generally setting our minds at ease. When it came to the day itself Emma was timely, efficient and really helped the day to go smoothly. She was able to quietly go about her business in the background when she needed to be invisible, but also organised our guests and got us all in order when required, whilst constantly popping up with some great photo suggestions throughout the day. She was happy to embrace the soggy weather and was really committed to capturing some the key moments in our day, as well as the little ones that made the day so special - despite the certain prospect of getting sopping wet! Hand on heart we can say that Emma (and Grant) fitted in seamlessly and just did the perfect job. We are so happy with the digital photos she's provided us and can't wait to see the album we have ordered. I would not hesitate to recommend Emma and Purple Rose Photography if you are looking for a wedding photographer for your own special day!

What is your most memorable wedding?

I worked at a Slovenian wedding. The day can only be descrbed as organised chaos but in a good way. The whole day was treated like a party, the couple had a marching band to keep everyone entertained and ended the day with a 20 minute first dance. They just kept going. The family and guest's were amazing, always singing and genuinly enjoying the day. Its always the people to me that make a wedding, where ever the wedding is as long as the guests are enjoying it you have a fantastic day.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Friendly Fun Relaxed Helpful Natural

What about your business are you most proud of?

The relationships I have built with my clients, my weddings usually end in a group hug which is the biggest compliment to me. My couple's shout my praises and recommend me to thier freinds meaning I often see them over and over again at future weddings. I'm lucky to count my previous couples as freinds.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Make sure all that key people have a copy of your plan

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I worked at a wedding where the grandmother made the cake, she had put so much thought and effort into it and the bride cried when she saw it. It was beatuiful with carefully indiviudally made flowers curling round.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

After your first inquiry I will arrange a meeting with you. If it is not possible to meet in person we will have a chat on Skype or over the phone, whichever you prefer. It's important to me that we meet up and talk to see if we all get along as whoever you choose you will spend a lot of time with. We will discuss your day, any plans already made, the must-have photos and answer any questions you have. If you are happy and wish to book we will go ahead and secure your date with a deposit and I will provide you with a receipt and contract. As your date approaches, I will send you a questionnaire. Don't worry it's not huge! This outlines all the key shots you want for example any group shots, if you have anything unusual planned that I should be aware of and allows us to look at your time plan for the day and make sure there is time for all your desired photos while still letting you have plenty of time to relax and mingle with your guests.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

First Kiss

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Umbreallas, wellies and a willingness to trust me, embrace the weather we can still get the photo's your dreaming of. Rain at night can give the effect of sparkels in your photos.

Describe how you got into photography.

Photography was always a part-time activity for me, it gave me the creative release that my work as a petrochemical engineer did not allow. After 12 long years, redundancy gave me the opportunity to pursue photography full-time. I’ve not looked back since. I have worked alongside and trained with various incredibly talented photographers and will continue to train and attend workshops and seminars to develop my work. I truly believe that we never stop learning. Whilst not perhaps apparent at fist my engineering background has helped me immensely. It taught me basic angles, light and how to control it, planning which is so important on weddings and to cope in a high stress or fast-paced situation, which again weddings can be.
