What is your most memorable wedding?
Every wedding is memorable in its own special way but probably one of my most memorable experiences was photographing a wedding at Westminster with the reception being held at The Dorchester hotel in London.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, fun, modern, traditiona,l quality
What about your business are you most proud of?
We will have photographed well over 1000 weddings and that we have had so many glowing testimonials from couples it makes me proud to know that we have helped make couples wedding days very special, its a lovely warm feeling.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Ask lots of questions i.e. How many weddings have you photographed? How many different venues? Have you photographed at my venue? Are you insured? Do you have any testimonials from previous couples? etc
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A memory of a young baby who sadly passed away shortly after birth was pride of place at mum and dads wedding this choked me up and made me realise just how important what we do by providing wonderful memories.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After our initial meeting when a couple confirm they want to book us we prepare contracts, all of this is done securely over the internet. We keep in touch with couples on the build up to their wedding and about a month before the big day we start planning the photography, timings etc. The photographs are uploaded for viewing literally days after the big day to a secure gallery for viewing. When couples have a rough idea how many pictures they want in their album they then come and see us and choose the album they require, the rest is down to us to design and finalise the wedding album. There is a lot more going on behind the scenes and couples are kept up to date with any important new relevant info that they may benefit from.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Straight after the ceremony the bride and groom on their own is timeless.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Sadly I cant put that here because the content is not appropriate but it was fun all the way.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
A wet weather plan is essential with the venue(s) if it rains we must have a suitable area for photographs and enough time to take them. We also offer a wet weather policy whereby a couple can return to the venue after the big day in their weddiing attireto re-create some photographs that the good old british weather may not have allowed.
Describe how you got into photography.
I first became interested in photography when I was 12, thats when I had my first camera, I loved photographing birds in our garden, from there my photography progressed and I photographed my first wedding on wet film when I was nearly 19, sadly that was some 40 years ago, how time flies, throughout my adult life I have lived behind a camera and have taken almost 300,000 photographs in a year, thats a lot of post processing. We dont just photograph weddings I am a pro photographer and I can turn my hand to most things but weddings are special to me because I have been entrusted to be a part of someones special day and that is wonderful. I suppose you could say my life has revolved around photography or has photography revolved around my life it depends on which way you look at it.
