What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding are always the ones where the flowers are incredible! However, flowers and beautiful details aside, my most memorable are the ones where the bride, groom and family make me feel so welcome that I am considered a friend.... which tends to be almost all of my weddings at the moment! I'm one lucky photographer and I am getting to work with some truly gorgeous people.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, Unobtrusive, Stylish, Relaxed, Storytelling
What about your business are you most proud of?
My luxury, personal and thoughtful service. I truly believe that the little things matter, as well as creating beautiful memories for people.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Create yourself a timeline, and tackle 1 thing at a time. It can feel overwhelming but it doesn't have to be.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
My service is luxury but also friendly and personal so it all begins in the comfort of my home at a pre-wedding consultation and ends in the same way with their photo viewing accompanied with a glass of bubbly. My couples do not book me and never hear from me until the wedding day; I am with them every step of the way, creating a beautiful and luxury service for them which is why I take on a limited number of weddings a year to ensure each and everyone receives a quality experience. Many of my brides end up being friends, and for me building a relationship and taking the time to get to know my couples is what's truly important, not only for their experience but it allows them to feel completely comfortable on their wedding day when having their photo taken. I can blend into the background of their wedding as a friend, rather than a stranger.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I shoot very naturally and so all moments that happen in front of me get taken. If you could only take 1 photo at a wedding, just 1 single image, then mine would be of the couple walking down the aisle together as a newly married couple.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Positive outlooks and happy smiles. Rain NEVER ruins a wedding and suppliers will work flexibly to your needs and you can still get beautiful photographs.
Describe how you got into photography.
I simply loved taking photos of every memory and printing them out in albums! I was known for having a camera (albeit non-professional at the time) with me and simply loved documenting life as it went by. When I got to an age where i began attending weddings, the obsession grew and lots of my photos i took as a guest (again on a non-professional camera) would be the ones friends would choose to frame in their homes... so it got me thinking, I could actually do this?! I sat in the garden with my family on a summers evening, made a 5 year plan on how to make my passion a reality, and now, as they say, the rest is history....
