Photography Style

Full Description
Originally from Germany, my passion for photography has developed during my teenage years and has now allowed me to work as a wedding photographer for the past few years. I'm based in London, but love to travel (who doesn't?). I would describe my style as relaxed, fun, vibrant, candid and memorable. I love capturing people's emotions and essence, enabling them to look back at their wedding photos and still remember what they felt in that exact moment. Besides weddings, I'm also experienced in portrait and event photography, having covered events, such as awards shows, family parties & corporate events in the UK as well as New York, Amsterdam and Germany. I believe these experiences definitely enhanced my skills as a wedding photographer. I love photographing weddings as I enjoy being able to capture this special and unique day in a couples life and for them to be able to look back at their pictures for years to come. My style could be described as a mix of relaxed, photojournalistic, candid and editorial with the aim to capture your wedding day as real & fun & beautiful as possible.

Memories we'll cherish forever & they’re perfect!
Nicole made the whole experience relaxing and easy from beginning to end. We met with her before hand which was so helpful to get to know her before the day. She was accommodating of all our requests and even stayed to capture the vital moments when our reception ran late. All my guests said how great she was and it shows in the photos. Memories we will cherish forever and they’re perfect. Thank you so much for being a part of our day and making everything so easy!!

What is your most memorable wedding?

I had a wedding in Cambridge last year. It was such a beautiful day and it was the first visit to Cambridge and the first time I went punting, which made for great photos! The couple was so lovely and it was just the perfect day for a wedding.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Fun, vibrant, relaxed, candid & timeless.

What about your business are you most proud of?

That I was able to leave the day job behind after 2 years of doing both jobs at the same time and that I've been able to travel quite a bit because of my photography work.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Go with people/suppliers you really want at your wedding day. I've heard of so many couples that regretted going with xyz because their mum offered to pay for that specific supplier or their auntie gifted them the homemade wedding cake that they then didn't like at all.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I love when couples display photos of themselves (and or guests) during their relationship at the reception. It shows their journey and history together and can be really meaningful.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Well everyone is different, but after the initial email exchange and questions answered I usually suggest meeting for a coffee to get to know each other and discuss any further concerns they may have. Some people prefer a phone or skype call instead. If you are then happy to go ahead with the booking I will send over the contract and invoice for the deposit. Once all the admin bit is out of the way my clients will receive a little welcome guide, which will explain what to expect next and even includes some helpful tips in how to prepare for your wedding day.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The First Kiss of course!

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

One of my brides told me early on that the theme of their wedding day is their favourite colour green, so I suggested to used green smoke bombs during some of the bride and groom shots. It was a funny undertaking as the bride's sister was running around with the smoke bombs behind the couple, but we also got some stunning photos out of it.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Embrace it. If the forecast is suggesting that it's going to rain you should have a plan B (e.g. a marquee or other indoor option for your reception). In terms of portraits why not get some quirky umbrellas and Wellington boots?

Describe how you got into photography.

Photography has been an interest/hobby of mine since I was a teenager, but I never really thought I'd be able to earn a living with my passion. After moving to London and doing more workshops and classes I met more like-minded fellow photographers. One of them just started their own business the year before and had later asked me to freelance for her. Her business specialises in online dating photography. Almost 5 years later I'm still working with her, but I also build my own business capturing weddings and I love doing both!
