What is your most memorable wedding?
Every wedding I shoot is memorable in it's own way and no two are the same but one that comes to mind was in a hand crafted treehouse by a beautiful Scottish loch on a summer's day.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Romantic, cinematic, natural, fine art, modern.
What about your business are you most proud of?
My clients reactions when they receive their wedding photographs.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
My first wedding planning tip for couples is to ensure to allow ample time in your schedule for your bride/groom and couple portraits. You should work with your photographer as early in the process as possible to make the most of your time on your wedding day and avoid time constraints on your first photoshoot as a married couple!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
An unforgettable couple portrait.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
I shoot Scottish weddings and I am always prepared for four seasons in one day! I absolutely love the dramatic and moody skies, reflections and soft light that rain showers and heavy clouds add. Of course, weather-proof locations for the portraiture are also confirmed in advance.
Describe how you got into photography.
I can't remember ever not being fascinated with photography - my intrigue began a very long time ago and my favoured Nikon DF rarely leaves my side. The first wedding I ever photographed, I agreed to shoot very reluctantly, at the request of a friend. I understood that capturing a wedding properly was a huge responsibility and one that really challenges all of the skills of any good photographer. I soon discovered that this challenge, while demanding in a variety of ways, was incredibly satisfying. I love to see my clients so delighted with their wedding albums and find that the creative possibilities are endless. The creative process, as well as meeting and working with so many interesting couples then delivering photography that they adore, is what motivates me.
