What is your most memorable wedding?
I once photographed a wedding and en route to the reception there was an accident on the motorway and all of the guests were delayed by two hours. That left me with about 15 minutes to do all of the photographs which I had allowed 2 hours for. Slightly stressful but I just had to adapt! It alluded well and the couple were very happy with the end results.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Down to earth. Honest. Adaptable. Creative. Hardworking.
What about your business are you most proud of?
The fact that most of my work is through word of mouth.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't get carried away and spend too much on photography.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
People skills
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Preferably meet at a local cafe or pub or home to discuss their wedding. I don't ask anyone to commit to anything at that point. I will contact them a few days later to see if they have any other questions and if they have come to a decision, if they decide to book me that's really appreciated. I usually advise a pre wedding shoot so that we can get to know each other, which really helps the couple relax and you can see the difference in the photographs on the wedding day.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A group shot with parents, grandparents and any other special people in their lives.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
A couple saw a picture in a magazine which was a composite of them at the alter then a close up of them looking down at themselves at the alter. It wasn't too difficult to reproduce, fortunately I can use photoshop really well and the couple were over the moon with the results
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
I always visit the venue before the wedding and always look for a room to take photographs in case it rains. I always take studio flash with me just in case.
Describe how you got into photography.
I went to Art College and studied photography and visual communications over a four year period. After that I worked in London as an assistant to a Fashion and Advertising photographer.
