Myday Photography Full Description
I like to think that I provide a great service that people can afford. I have years of experience photographing weddings and I think I have seen most things and encountered lots of tricky situations, but that's part of my job. Photography is forever changing and styles come and go. There is a big push at the moment for documentary style wedding photography. This sounds good and if that's what the client wants, then I am ok with that, however, all of my wedding photography is a mix of documentary and formal group shots. I do this because I really believe that people do want that picture with their parents or grandparents which can be there to be looked at for future generations. I truly believe in talking everything through with my clients to ensure they get exactly what they want. I don't work to a timer, I will be there as long as I need to, the important part of my job is to give my clients a great set of pictures to cover the entire day, pictures they will want to keep looking at and show their friends and family.

Personal Message from the Manager

Name of Wedding Contact: Steve Heatherill
Finding a good photographer that you believe can deliver great photographs can be difficult. It is easy to dismiss ones at the lower end and easy to get sucked in to paying very high prices for something you probably don't need. I like to think I fit somewhere n the middle. I just believe in being honest with people and giving great service. So if you want a down to earth photographer that will really look after you, please contact me for a no obligation discussion.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

I once photographed a wedding and en route to the reception there was an accident on the motorway and all of the guests were delayed by two hours. That left me with about 15 minutes to do all of the photographs which I had allowed 2 hours for. Slightly stressful but I just had to adapt! It alluded well and the couple were very happy with the end results.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Down to earth. Honest. Adaptable. Creative. Hardworking.

What about your business are you most proud of?

The fact that most of my work is through word of mouth.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Don't get carried away and spend too much on photography.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

People skills

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Preferably meet at a local cafe or pub or home to discuss their wedding. I don't ask anyone to commit to anything at that point. I will contact them a few days later to see if they have any other questions and if they have come to a decision, if they decide to book me that's really appreciated. I usually advise a pre wedding shoot so that we can get to know each other, which really helps the couple relax and you can see the difference in the photographs on the wedding day.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

A group shot with parents, grandparents and any other special people in their lives.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

A couple saw a picture in a magazine which was a composite of them at the alter then a close up of them looking down at themselves at the alter. It wasn't too difficult to reproduce, fortunately I can use photoshop really well and the couple were over the moon with the results

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

I always visit the venue before the wedding and always look for a room to take photographs in case it rains. I always take studio flash with me just in case.

Describe how you got into photography.

I went to Art College and studied photography and visual communications over a four year period. After that I worked in London as an assistant to a Fashion and Advertising photographer.
