When it comes to your wedding photography its the real moments that I love to shoot and I work hard to search find them during your day. All Mum’s and Dad’s want the family groups but your wedding is not about people standing in a line, its about you two, your connection and your relationships with those around you. Thats what makes it your wedding. I do the traditional thing with family groups, not too many please :) and a couple of B&G portrait sessions throughout the day. When it comes to party time you’ll find me on the dance floor, right in the heart of the action.

He made me feel so at ease
Mike had the task of being the photographer at our weddin. I’m the bride who hates her photo being taken! But he made me feel so at ease from the get go and he went above and beyond to capture every special moment of our elopement wedding. We are over the moon with the photos and so glad we found him! His great knowledge of the Ilfracombe area meant we could change scenery and venture down to the beach. Don’t even think twice about booking Mike for your wedding…you have my word you won’t be disappointed!

Fantastic Photographer!!
We are so pleased we found Mike to photograph our wedding day! He truly is a brilliant photographer and knows exactly what he is doing. We booked Mike for half a day (pre-lockdown), but due to growing restrictions linked to COVID-19 we had to downgrade our wedding package and Mike completely understood and worked with us to create a new package. He is so easy to talk to, has a great sense of humour and what we loved about him was he showed a genuine interest in who we are as a couple and what guests we would have coming to the wedding. The first time we spoke to Mike, we were on the phone for over an hour in the evening and it didn't feel rushed at all. He is so easy going and takes all the stress out of your day! We really don't know how he managed to get half the shots he did and even though it was like he wasn't even there, he took the time to get to know our guests too. He really works hard to get the best shots, he really does. What Mike produced for us made our jaws hit the floor! Our wedding photos are absolutely stunning, they really are. They couldn't go in an album on the shelf - we brought A LOT of photo frames and now have a whole wall in our home filled with our wedding photos. Mike, thank you so much. You are a great photographer and a great person! You have given us something we will cherish forever. You are more talented than you will ever believe! Sarah and Gareth

Sandy Cove Elopement August 2020
Michael shot our elopement wedding at Sandy Cove in August 2020. He captured our intimate day perfectly. Such an easy going, friendly guy who made us feel at ease throughout the small amount time he spent with us. He went above and beyond what we had expected. I couldn’t recommend him enough to anyone looking for a photographer in the North Devon area.

Can’t thank Mike enough!
Can’t thank Mike enough for the amazing pictures he took at our wedding! Really captured the day and how much fun everyone had! Everyone loved him and he did a fantastic job even with rain and very strong winds! He didn’t have the easiest job! The pictures are beautiful and we will always be able to look back and our amazing day that he captured so well! He also sent us some beautiful little gifts with our memory stick :) if you are thinking about booking him. Do it!

Made us feel at ease and took amazing photos
We could not be happier with our wedding photos- mike was so nice and accommodating from our first meeting. The photos are everything we wanted and mike fitted in to the day perfectly - everything ran smoothly and he organised everyone like a pro. A friend of ours was so impressed she has now booked him for her wedding. Best photographer.

What is your most memorable wedding?

I have photographed so many brilliant weddings, I couldn't pick out just one. But I did shoot one in a Circus Big Top, that was pretty epic.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Creative, fun, emotive, professional, relaxed

What about your business are you most proud of?

Of course my photos but also my customer relations

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Get everything booked asap, especially your photographer :) There is nothing worse than stressing out close to your day getting services booked in.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Table Numbers with a photo of the bride and groom at that same age, the Table One sign had a photo of them at one year old, table two at two years old etc, very cool.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I meet my couples and prospective clients for a coffee and a chat prior to the wedding. This sometimes includes the pre wedding shoot. I keep in touch at regular intervals between booking and the wedding date and send a questionaire a month prior asking all the final timings and details like parents, bestman, bridesmaids names and any other important details to do with the day. I also send a shot list so I have the required group photos prior to the day, this especially helps to make that part of the day go as smooth and as quickly as possible. After the wedding the photos, once individually edited, will be uploaded into an online gallery and your USB will be delivered to you. If you have and album in your option this is when you will choose your photos using your online gallery. Your album will be designed and you will have an online magazine style proof to approve or request album changes.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

I know its a bit boring but I really think every wedding couple should have a traditional full length portrait. I do this for all my clients as well as lots of other cool stuff but the full length one is the one Mum and Granny will want for their mantelpiece.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

All the groomsmen with their trousers down pretending to help each other pee!!!!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Smile, its your wedding day! Oh, and take a brolly

Describe how you got into photography.

I was a private Butler for many years and always had an interest and bought a good SLR, I travelled all over the world with my work and wanted to take great photos. In 2005 I attended a friends wedding and took my own camera. After I sent my photos to the couple and they preferred mine to the guy they had paid! It took a couple of years working full time and being a weekend photo warrior but I went full time in 2013.
