Hi, I’m Charlotte, the photographer behind McConnell Photography. I’m based in beautiful Mid Wales, but I photograph weddings across the UK. I love capturing weddings in a way that feels natural, relaxed and completely personal to the couple.
McConnell Photography offers relaxed, natural wedding photography for couples who want their day captured as it genuinely happens.
I combine documentary-style photography with a more polished editorial feel. Most of the day is photographed quietly and unobtrusively, focusing on real moments, emotion and the little details you may otherwise miss. When it comes to portraits, I keep things simple and relaxed, giving just enough direction to create beautiful images without making you feel overly posed.
My approach is calm, flexible and personal. I take the time to understand what matters most to each couple, whether that is family, candid moments with friends, the landscape around your venue or the small details you have spent months planning.
Every wedding gallery is carefully edited with a mixture of colour and black and white images, creating a collection that feels natural, timeless and true to the atmosphere of the day.
For me, wedding photography is about telling the full story of your wedding, from the nervous excitement beforehand through to the celebrations later in the day, so you can look back and remember how it actually felt.

What’s your photography style?
My style is natural, relaxed and documentary-led. I focus on capturing real moments as they happen rather than staging everything. You’ll get a mix of candid storytelling alongside a few gently guided portraits that still feel like you.
How long do you stay on the wedding day?
I offer flexible coverage depending on what you need, from shorter days covering the key moments through to full-day coverage from preparations right through to the evening celebrations.
How many photos will we receive?
You’ll receive a full gallery of professionally edited images that tell the complete story of your day. I don’t cap the number, but typically you can expect several hundred images from a full-day wedding.
How long does it take to receive our photos?
I send a small sneak peek within a few days so you have something to share, and your full gallery is usually ready within a few weeks.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes, I travel all over the UK and abroad.
Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding shoots?
Yes, I offer pre-wedding shoots which are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day and get some relaxed photos together.
What happens if it rains?
No problem at all. I always have a backup plan and some of the best photos can happen in unexpected weather. I’ll work with whatever the day brings to make sure you still get beautiful images.
How do we book you?
Once you’re happy to go ahead, I take a booking fee to secure your date, with the remaining balance due closer to the wedding. Dates are only confirmed once the booking fee is received.
Do you offer albums or printed products?
Yes, I offer high-quality albums and print options so you can enjoy your photos away from a screen and keep them for years to come.
