I really believe that every couple, and therefore every wedding I photograph is unique. Of course tradition plays a big part in the day, but the cookie cutter approach to wedding photography just isn’t for me! My philosophy, and that of documentary photography generally, is that it’s the interactions between you both and your guests and your choices about the day that will define your wedding and make it different to any other. I get such a great feeling knowing that I’m creating some of the most treasured pictures a couple will ever own. Pictures that can’t be staged or recreated but which capture the essence of your relationship and natural beauty. I love the honesty and subtleties of using natural light. My photography is all about capturing the real moments and emotions of your day, be it the nervous anticipation before the ceremony, the subtle little glances to one another as you read your vows, or the release of energy on the dance floor when you realise what an amazing day you’ve just had! So what’s it like to have me as your photographer? Well you certainly won’t see me shouting instructions at your family and friends as we stage lots of group photos! You might not even notice me at all. But if you do, you’ll probably see me moving quietly through the wedding, anticipating the action and capturing authentic images of the day. My friendly, calm and discreet approach gives couples the opportunity to really enjoy their special day the way it’s meant to be.

Personal Message from the Manager

Congratulation on your engagement and upcoming wedding! Here's where the fun starts, or should that be, here's where you get overwhelmed by the choices you're now faced with. Either way, I'd love to hear about your plans so far and would love to explain a little more about how my photography might fit in.

We are absolutely delighted with the photos.
David photographed our winter wedding in December 2017 and we are absolutely delighted with the photos. Every picture told a unique story, and as a collection they capture the our special day perfectly from start to finish. We have had so many compliments from family and friends about the photos and have had full discussions about each one and what was happening at the time! The balance of candid vs posed and black and white vs colour photos was just right and very well judged. David went above and beyond what we expected and was happy to meet us in advance for a recce of our venues and come to the wedding rehearsal the night before. He was patient, unobtrusive and listened to what we wanted from our photos rather than directing us too much. He even braved the rain with us when we decided on a whim that we wanted some shots in St. James's Park! Thank you David, we will definitely be recommending you to our family and friends!

I'm so pleased with the photos and the album!
David's photos speak much louder than words, but nonetheless it is worth saying how brilliant he is. David captures the most important moments effortlessly, artfully, and sensitively. I didn't notice David at all as he was taking photos and it shows as everyone looks natural and comfortable. I'm so pleased with the photos and the album that he designed for us which tells a story of the day from start to finish. As well as being an excellent photographer, David is a lovely person and a pleasure to have at your wedding.

They make you smile as you look at them.
I am so glad that I found David and he could be my wedding photographer. He is such a professional photographer. His photos tell the story of one of the most special days of our lives. He captured all those beautiful and happy moments while he was staying unobtrusive. Each and every photo brings back the memory of what we were doing, what we were talking about, etc. I'm normally quite camera shy but in every single photo, I'm with a big smile on my face and so is everyone else. They make you smile as you look at them. If you are looking for a photographer who can capture one of the most special days of your life as beautifully and as naturally as possible, David won't disappoint you. Very much highly recommended.

David was fantastic throughout
David was fantastic throughout, from our initial meeting to visiting the venue with us and on the actual day. We couldn't have asked for better photos to remember the day and love how relaxed and natural the shots are. We would thoroughly recommend David, and are so pleased we chose him to capture our day. Thanks again David!

He was very easy to work with, and took some amazing images of the whole wedding day, capturing the happy and fun atmosphere of this fabulous wedding. Thank you for preserving our day.
David is an absolute professional and an incredible artist! I don't know how - but he was able to capture moments on camera that we didn't even know were photographed. They're so natural and pure that he captured not only the photo but the way we felt at the time. We got married in the uk but we live in Canada and David made us feel so comfortable from our first conversation over the phone all the way to the end of our wedding day! He surprised us when we received a package at our doorstep in Canada, and when we opened it, it was a beautiful box with one of our photos printed on it, and the USB with our wedding photos inside. David - we could really feel the passion you have for what you do! Thank you for preserving our day just the way we remember it!

What is your most memorable wedding?

I love all of them of course, but the ceremony on the platform at St Pancras Station stands out!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Natural, fun, authentic, timeless, unobtrusive

What about your business are you most proud of?

Trust and honesty are values that I feel are essential to my business (and my sanity!)

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

You will look your best when you forget the camera and have the time of your lives.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I love it whenever the bride gives a speech (no pressure ladies!)

Describe your typical process with a couple.

It's fundamental to my photography that my couples understand the way I work and that I can get to know them. In most cases I recommend a Skype chat before booking and then a venue visit nearer to the wedding.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

That's a difficult one for me to answer because I try to go into each wedding not with a shot list in my head, but open to what happens at that wedding, and is unique.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

Sadly the photo requests from family and friends on the wedding day aren't that original, but I was asked to make sure I got a picture of the cheese and ham quiche recently. It turned out to be their wedding cake!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

It's easy to say, but don't let it affect you, we're in England after all right! But on a serious note, my photography is all about the connections between people, and that's unaffected by the weather. If you're worried then think carefully about your choice of venue and how your guests will cope with the rain.

Describe how you got into photography.

I picked up my grandfather's old camera when I was 16 and never really looked back.
