So I suppose this is the bit where I tell you how much I love being a wedding photographer and start to drop words like documentary, creative, natural, contemporary, candid, the truth is I’m all the above and a little bit more, you see I don’t want to pigeonhole my style, for me that would just be a restriction on my creativity, I take photos of what I see, people being human, moments of feeling, touch, and joy, always trying to capture images in a real and honest way. Sure, I’ll do the group shots, but these are done quickly and efficiently, giving us more time to capture the real moments of the day. For me weddings are so much more than just the Bride & Groom, sounds a little bit controversial but let me explain, weddings are all about the people, family, and friends the guests who you have invited to spend this amazing day with you, of course, we’ll get some amazing portrait photos of you two, but I will also be capturing the story of the day as it unfolds, from the smallest detail you’ve spent months making and organizing to the crazy rip-roaring weird uncle dancing later on in the evening. We all know somebody like this, right? I’ve been photographing weddings full-time for just over 8 years now, from full-on festival weddings to cool hip inner-city weddings, but no matter where I find myself it always comes back to the people. The thing is we are all living this transient 100 mph lifestyle, always busy, always working, and we rarely get time to see our loved ones to spend quality time with them, that’s what I love about weddings, everyone’s there for you, dressed up and looking sharp, happy smiley faces. It’s a great place to be and it’s a day you will never ever forget, so when you look back at your weddings photos in years to come you will remember all the fun you had, that look, that kiss, the hugs, knocking out those shapes on the dance floor with your friends into the early hours of the morning.
