Full Description
Hi, I’m Maria, a Documentary Wedding Photographer in London and the South East of the UK with an passion for adventure and people who are in love with life and are mad about each other. Whether you are planning a wedding near by or a faraway wedding that you need an brilliant photographer for, I’m your girl! My style is relaxed, creative and fun and although I will capture your formals, I will also be there in the morning when you’re getting ready with your buddies and your mum, during the ceremony when you become husband and wife, during your couple session, the speeches and the outrageous party at the end of your day. I’ll capture all the things that you’ll remember forever and those that you will otherwise forget soon after your day has passed with a blast. No stiff and cheesy poses or grinning like a pancake on my watch. Instead I will take the worry out of your photography and tell the story of your day in candid photographs in a natural, un-posed, beautiful and creative way. I’d love to hear everything about your exciting plans. Maria x

Simply wonderful photos
We spent a long time looking for a photographer for our wedding, and are so happy that we went with Maria. Her warm & friendly attitude helped to calm our nerves for the photos on our special day, and we really appreciated the pre-wedding shoot and Skype chats. Needless to say, we’re so happy with the images she captured. The photos are a wonderful mix, beautifully documenting key parts of our day, capturing small intimate moments during the ceremony and, of course, the energy & fun of the reception. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer for their big day.

Natural, detailed and powerful photography
Maria was exactly what we were looking for in a wedding photographer. From the moment we met her, she was efficient and supportive; exactly what you need when the stress of planning a wedding kicks in. She was always there to answer any questions or discuss finer details. We couldn't have asked for a more talented photographer. From the start to the end of our big day, she captured so many beautiful shots. She was discretely there at every moment, documenting the day from different angles and perspectives. She captured so much movement in our dancing shots, that we remember those moments with clarity. We were both thrilled to have found someone who captured so many memories which we will forever cherish. Thank you Maria for allowing us to relive our special day by looking back at your beautiful photos.

Highly recommended!
Maria was an absolutely brilliant photographer for our wedding. She was very friendly and easy to talk to, which along with her obvious talent, enabled her to take some amazing shots at our pre-wedding shoot. On the day of the wedding she was more than a photographer, being generally helpful with the smooth running of the day and taking stunning shots that we and our guests will be able to treasure forever. Everything was efficient and professional but also very warm and friendly.

A huge heartfelt thank you from us both.
I cannot thank you enough for the most fun, unobtrusive and flattering pictures of our big day. You completely captured our essence, the vibe and all those nearest and dearest to us. You heroically dodged and halted traffic; you did your research for the best and most scenic spots; and through the photos you have created a lasting montage of the memories for the day for us which is utterly priceless.

What is your most memorable wedding?

I shot one of my friends' wedding in Copenhagen (I know, don't mix business and pleasure), but I absolutely loved it. Apart from the fact that everyone was just hilariously fun and great to be and celebrate with, but the quirky traditions of a Danish wedding had me floored. Also, the light in Scandinavia is simply to die for, so this one definitely comes to mind very easily!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

relaxed, fun, real, emotional, documentary

What about your business are you most proud of?

I absolutely love making people feel beautiful and happy in my photographs. I love that my photos are real and show real emotion, even if that means that I have to make fun of myself throughout the shoot in order to get my couples cracking up :D

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Plan plenty of time to chill and have fun with your guests. And also for photos of course. It's crazy how many couples plan their day down to the last minute and then miss half of their day because they are so busy with the 'programme'.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I see all sorts of handmade details, but I loved one of my brides' handmade paper flower bouquets. She had made it together with her husband to be and they both loved it. She had made boutonnieres and bridesmaids bouquets to go with it and still had the bouquet on display when I went to deliver the album. Beautiful!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Depending on whether couples want to meet or not, after the initial contact we will usually have a chat about your wedding and what you are looking forward to and for in your photos. I include a complimentary engagement shoot, so that is when we have a thorough chat about how your planning is going and what's still outstanding. About a week before your wedding, we will have a pre-wedding consultation to chat through any last things that might have changed since the engagement shoot. And then on your wedding day, I'm there from the getting ready in the morning until the wild dances and loud songs on the dancefloor and I love every minute of it.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

I don't really think there is one photo that fits all. I work with many different couples and for me it's about the essence of what it is between you and what makes your connection so special. It is different for every couple, and so will your wedding photos be.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

A groom and his best man, who was also his best friend since childhood wanted me to take a photo of them with their mouths as open as possible to compare who has the bigger mouth. It is no contest at all, but it was great fun to take :D

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Bring some funky wellies, a pretty brolly, depending on the time of year a bolero or a pashmina, and just have a laugh. I'll make it look fabulous, I promise!

Describe how you got into photography.

My mother was a documentary director in East Germany when I was growing up. Her equipment and passion for capturing and telling a story through her films inspired me early on. I was given my first camera when I was 10 years old, and have basically never stopped taking pictures since. It's completely in my blood and part of my personality.
