Maddie Waters Photography Full Description
Hello! Thanks so much for looking at my page. I hope you like what you see. Here is a little about me ......... Telling stories through the lens of my camera is my passion, add this to being the hopeless romantic that I am and you can understand how much I value and enjoy my job as a wedding photographer. I chose to start photographing weddings 6 years ago and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made! I feel that a wedding is such a special moment in a couples life, one which I always feel extremely privileged to be a part of. I have a gentle approach when capturing a wedding day - staying behind the scenes and creatively documenting without being an obstruction. I strive to go beyond simply capturing the essential wedding pictures, believing in the value of those often missed intricate moments. All those special moments, valued memories, wild emotions, craziness and joy ... I will be there for it all. Finishing each wedding with a little bop about on the dance floor with my camera (ready to snap those amazing dance moves) and eventually sneaking out with a piece of cake in hand. I hope we get to chat! If you send me a message please include your date and location of your wedding :) xx

It's hard to describe how fantastic Maddie is!
Maddie was a total joy from beginning to end. It's hard to describe how fantastic she was, and how she was much more than a wedding photographer, and contributed so much to the happiness of the day. From our very first call, we knew we had struck gold. We secured Maddie's services right away and we are so glad we did! She was total delight, bursting with enthusiasm, support and great ideas. It was wonderful to connect and work alongside someone who was fully engaged with your needs and desires. No agenda or any personal bias. She just wanted what was best for us. On the day of the wedding, she was calm, engaged, and really supportive. She provided genuine warmth and confidence to Dani as she prepared for the church. Throughout the entire day, we received non-stop compliments from our guests about Maddie's passion. It's quite something to have your wedding photographer be one of the great positives to your wedding day. That's just how good Maddie was. She puts us totally at ease throughout the day - especially considering we're not often in front of the camera. One of our favourite aspects to the day was our photoshoot with Maddie and the videographer in the New Forest, where we got to simply be together as a newly married couple before joining our guests. The wedding photos were astonishing, and proved that not only is Maddie a lovely person but that she's extremely good at her job. The resulting package of 100s of photos was extraordinary, and has provided memories that will last a life time. We cannot recommend highly enough that you pick Maddie for your wedding, as she will only improve the day and deliver the best photos you could imagine!

Like another member of the family!
From the moment we met Maddie she made us feel so comfortable, she just got us and what we wanted and made it happen. On the day of the wedding she was really unobtrusive but confident enough to get everyone in the right positions to get the shots we wanted. She was so enthusiastic and made us feel really special. All of our guest raved about her and said that she felt like another member of the family - not just a stranger taking photos. When the photos came through after the big day we were blown away, her photos perfectly captured the day and bought our memories to life. Thanks so much Maddie, any couple would be lucky to have you as their photographer!

Excellent Wedding Photographer!
Maddie photographed our wedding in September 2017 and it was easily one of the best “wedding decisions” we made. Both myself and my Husband aren’t natural in front of the camera/ don’t really like PDAs (!) but Maddie made us feel completely at ease and totally got what we were looking for. She also really helped the day run smoothly! We were delighted with our wedding photos!

Photo memories to last a lifetime!
Maddie was by far the best and easiest part of organising our wedding, she was so helpful from start to finish and did everything with a smile on her face. Not only did she make us feel at ease the whole day, (we barely realised she was taking photos! She was so sneaky!) but the photos were just beautiful. I would recommend Maddie to anyone wanting the best!

We had Maddie for our wedding and we could not have been happier with our photos! Maddie knew exactly what the right photos were to take of us, and we felt completely at ease and comfortable the whole time. The photos were exactly what we wanted and more...natural and happy! We would recommend Maddie to anyone, you won't be disappointed :)

Wedded bliss ❤️
Maddie is one talented lady!!! From the moment we saw her work we knew she was the lady to capture our special day. The bridal prep in the morning is usually exciting and happy however without my dad there it was very tearful and Maddie was kind and caring and some took not so traditional photos for me which I am eternally grateful for!! All our guests commented on how professional and lovely she was, how she blended in with the guests, like a wedding ninja! When we received the photos they were packaged gorgeously and we were able to relive the day all over again with the same laughter and tears. Thank you so much Maddie, you truly deserve every happiness xxxx

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your most memorable wedding?

The people are the best part about all my weddings! So I couldn't pick one!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Relaxed, natural, documentary, romantic, candid.

What about your business are you most proud of?

Never receiving a bad review!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Lots of flowers!! Never too many flowers! Also - don't buy the first dress you try on, let yourself come back to it after shopping around as it won't go anywhere!

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

One couple found and printed a meaningful photo, or photo of them with the guest and popped them on each guests place setting. I thought this was really sweet and loved capturing everyone see them and the emotions it created.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I always suggest a meeting over coffee or a Skype chat prior to booking so we meet firstly! I love to hear all about your plans, and I can explain how the photography would fit into your day.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

A few relaxed photos as a newly married couple just the two of you.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

Too many funny requests!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Lots of brollies! I am always up for a challenge, and rain can be worked around. If the forecast looks particularly dodgy I suggest bulk buying some clear umbrellas from Ebay! I would definitely pay attention to the indoor space when choosing a venue, make sure you like the backup plan for if it is a rainy day.

Describe how you got into photography.

I have always taken lots of photos but I really got into photography at college. I did a fashion photography course which I loved, and it taught me so much. I then went on to study Photography at uni, and looked at it more as an art form. Weddings came after that when I had family friends asking me to photograph their big days as a favour. From this I had more and more people ask me, and realised how much I loved capturing natural moments and photographing special memories for people. So I made the transition out of studio photography and into Weddings full time!
