As every wedding is so different, I am very flexible when it comes to the plan of the day, but in general I usually arrive with the bride 2 hours before the ceremony begins to capture some photographs of the bridal preparations. If you would prefer me to head straight to the ceremony venue instead that is no problem at all. I am normally allowed to photograph the key moments of the ceremony, and then after the service I usually take some group photos either at the ceremony venue or at the reception venue. I find that a wedding naturally lends itself to different styles of photography; there are times when I will use a photojournalistic style to capture hugs and tears and proud smiles, and then there are certain shots, such as the signing of the register, throwing the confetti and cutting the cake etc which, although traditional shots, I like to capture as naturally as possible. I usually like to take the bride and groom away from the crowd, just for 10 or 20 minutes, to get some couples shots, and I stay for the reception, wedding breakfast and speeches, up to and including the first dance. Throughout the day I will be capturing your celebrations using a natural, reportage style, so that you will be able to relax with your guests and enjoy yourselves. The responsibility is on me to create the images that I am looking for, so for most of the day you won’t really know that I am there, and when you do I work very efficiently so that you can continue enjoying your celebrations without disruption. After the wedding, I send you a US with all of your edited photos, along with a link to a personal digital gallery, where you can view, download and share your images.

What is your most memorable wedding?

I can literally remember every single wedding I have photographed when looking at a few photos! This is why it is so important to choose the right photographer....because when I look at my photos I can remember the feeling in the room, or what was about to happen next, or even the small details such as the weather or the song that was playing at the time. Photographs aren't just beautiful pieces of artwork.....they are there to remind you of exactly how you felt at a particular moment in time, and that is something you can keep forever.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Contemporary, reportage, beautiful, candid and elegant.

What about your business are you most proud of?

I have over fifty independent 5 Star reviews which I am extremely proud of......this means I am making people happy because they love their photos!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Make a list, then a make another list, then make a list of your lists and then......Enjoy Every Second!!!

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Homemade decorations are always bride had spent over a year making origami paper birds to hang in strings everywhere! Not only did they look beautiful, I just love the thought of Liz sitting in front of the TV of an evening, with her pile of paper, planning her wedding and folding her paper birds!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Most people like to meet at some point before the wedding, either via Zoom or in person, so that we can talk through timings and group photos etc. On the big day, I am very easy going and for most of the time you will not know I am with you. You can just enjoy your day and trust me to capture your beautiful day for you.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Everybody needs that one killer shot to have on their mantlepiece/ place on the wall at home. I often receive thank you cards from my lovely couples and they design the cards themselves with their favourite image(s). Some people go for the natural, reportage type photo, some people like a nice soft, romantic photo, some people go for a fun photo.......which is why it's so important for me to provide you with a variety of images, so that the choice is yours.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

The most original photos come from my ideas, as these are ones that I am envisaging whilst I am in the moment, however I don't mind recreating photos that other people ask me to take (such as forming love hearts, lying down, jumping in the air etc.)

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Aside from umbrellas and wellies obviously, every single couple has always had a fantastic time on their wedding day....regardless of the rain!! It's just weather, and we can't change it, so embrace it and enjoy every single second! Most of the important stuff happens inside anway, and I have some fabulous portable indoor lights so I can just capture everything indoors and when there's a break in the rain, we pop outside!

Describe how you got into photography.

I have always loved photography and was completely overwhelmed by the standard of work available when I was looking for a photographer myself, nearly 14 years ago. I always thought wedding photography was just a picture of a bride and groom outside a church, and then maybe 10 people standing in a line. How wrong could I be!!! I fell in love first with the style, and then with the possibility of literally being able to capture the emotions of the happiest day of a person's life. I then decided that this was something my brain and my personality could really be suited to. I did tons of research, bought a DSLR, went on training, courses, then practiced at friend's weddings before advertising my services for free so that I could gain some real life experience. I was accredited by the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and now, 14 years and 450 weddings later, here I am, still madly in love!
