What is your most memorable wedding?
One of the most memorable weddings I’ve had the pleasure of photographing took place at the stunning Tortworth Court near Gloucester.
The ceremony was held in the Orangery, a truly enchanting space that added a touch of magic to the day. The Orangery, with its tall, arched windows and delicate ironwork, was bathed in a soft, natural light that made every moment feel magical
The day was picture-perfect, with clear skies and the sun casting a warm glow over the historic venue. The majestic architecture of Tortworth Court, coupled with its lush, manicured gardens, provided a breathtaking backdrop for the day’s festivities.
The atmosphere was relaxed and filled with joy. The bride and groom, radiating happiness, were open to my creative suggestions, allowing us to capture some truly unique moments.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Professional, Passionate, Creative, Reliable, Friendly
What about your business are you most proud of?
My relaxed approach with the ability to make the bride and groom feel relaxed throughout the day.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
My number 1 tip for wedding planning is to always make sure you're comfortable with your Photographer & Videographer before booking on the day of the wedding it's important that you both click and you're on the same page. Lay out what you're comfortable with doing to ensure there is no miscommunication.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
My favourite personal touch would be the cake toppers. The day should be celebrating the bride and groom and why not finish it with a personal touch, something out of the ordinary that represents the personality.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After a couple books me, I'll schedule a pre-wedding meeting with the bride and groom to ensure their expectations for the day are fully understood. During this meeting, we'll explore various options and go over the day's requirements, such as preferred photo sessions, special guests, or specific shots they desire. I'll also address any queries they may have and offer recommendations for suppliers if needed. As the wedding approaches, just a few weeks prior, I'll touch base again to ensure all details remain current.
On the big day, my approach is relaxed, recognising that it's their special moment, and I aim to minimise any added stress.
Once my contracted time concludes, I'll swiftly curate 10-15 highlight photos within 24-48 hours, perfect for sharing on their social media or for immediate enjoyment.
Within 3-5 weeks, the couple will receive their comprehensive wedding gallery online, easily shareable with family and friends for downloading at their leisure.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The no.1 photo that every couple should take has to be a fun photo of both of them laughing naturally. These always turn out amazing and don't look forced.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I have done a wedding for a couple that didn't want any forced photos, group or couples photos. They wanted completely candid. This was incredibly comfortable for me to achieve and it allowed me to interact more with the guests to get the shots they wanted.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Be prepared, clear umbrellas work really well when its raining outside and makes an excellent shot too! It's important to always have a plan B. Speak to the venue about what to do if it is raining and if they can accommodate group photos indoors instead.
Describe how you got into photography.
When I was 15, my parents purchased my first camera which was the Canon 1100D an entry level camera with interchangeable lenses. I found pleasure and joy in capturing pretty much anything and looking back at what I had taken. I then started to venture into commercial photography and small family gatherings and found pride in sharing my work with paid clients.
