What is your most memorable wedding?
All of the weddings that I photograph are memorable to me but one of the most memorable moments at a recent wedding was during the bridal preparations just as the bride was telling me that her father and only parent was recently hospitalised and not well enough to attend we got a phone call to come downstairs and there was the bride's father in a wheelchair ready to accompany her down the aisle.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, Quirky, Creative, Intimate, Fine Art.
What about your business are you most proud of?
Can I say everything? I absolutely adore being able to do what I love. I love capturing memories for couples and I love their reactions when they receive their wedding photographs.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Remember it's your day, so do whatever it is that'll make the two of you happy, I know this from planing my own wedding. Take your time, actually allow yourself to enjoy being engaged and try not to let the little thing stress you out.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I think couples can have a lot of fun with their weddings and I love couples with a good sense of humour! I recently photographed a wedding where the couple had found really embarrassing photographs of all the guests and used those to create a seating chart!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
My typical process after couples enquire with me is to schedule to meet up over coffee or even a G+T! I like to hold an informal chat with couples about their wedding day plans and to see if we're a good fit. You spend a lot of time with your wedding photographer on your big day so it's always important to me that we get along well and have a connection. We usually talk over their plans and I always bring along some sample albums for couples to browse through. After that if we're a good fit, I usually send the couple over a booking form and a quote and we go from there then.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I don't think that there is any set photo because each couple is unique but I do think that each couples should have a photograph with their close family (siblings, parents, grandparents) because years down the line that photo is going to mean a lot to you.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Be brave! I love shooting in the rain, it gives me a chance as the photograph to be creative and think differently during your couple portraits!
