Full Description
I have been photographing weddings for over 25 years and still love the challenge. So many lovely people all having a good time. Amazing locations and beautiful brides and grooms looking their very best and I am gifted with the job of recording the happy day. I shoot both formal and candid photos and can present them in colour, black & white or both, whichever you prefer. I have a background in both press, fashion and commercial photography plus I get on well with people which all combine to make my weddings fun occasions while producing lovely photos quickly and easily.

What is your most memorable wedding?

The last one, I got a short memory ;) Seriously there was a castle in wales, Liverpool football ground, another in London where the brides mum was Lady Penelope (Thunderbirds) Then the one where all the bridesmaids were pornstars, another where the bride and groom fed the lions. The nearest was one where the couple used a marquee next to our house the week after we ran out annual folk festival, lots of local knowledge on that one!! Another I found out part way through the wedding that the groom was previously Prince Charles private secretary. So there you have it. So much variety from the one with just four people in a registry office to hundreds of people amazing locations and also the reason I still love shooting weddings. It is so much more than a job!!!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Relaxed, professional, fun, disciplined, fast

What about your business are you most proud of?

People always say what a great time they had and love the photos. Many have remained good friends.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Make sure you are comfortable with the photographer. He will be very close to you for the entire wedding documenting everything.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

The person that was looking after the couple at Liverpool Football stadium which was a civil wedding. He was like their best friend and nothing was too much trouble. He even went and got a huge big European trophy they could pose with.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Inital meeting and booking, engagement photo if wanted, meet up a couple of weeks before the wedding to discuss details and collect balance. It is a good time to get to know each other again and iron out any details and go through the important photos. Shoot wedding, corrected images ready for viewing on return from honemoon then if it is an album then lots of discussion and meetings on design and fially presentation of the final wedding album.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Family photo. So important in later years when people pass on and also an heirloom for your children and grandchildren.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

The couple feeding a lion pieces of chicken.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Be prepared to hang about until later because often the weather changes. Make sure you have planned for eventualities with alternative locations within the reception area and take studio lights if necessary. I have stood the bride and groom in the doorway using flash to still have a green outdoor background.

Describe how you got into photography.

The arrival of my daughter stepped up my love of photography and wanting to make better pictures then the joining of a camera club and entering competitions.
