What is your most memorable wedding?
definately my first! i was asked by a friend if i could cover a wedding last minute as the photographer booked let them down 2 days before, i stepped in and haven't looked back since :)
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
natural, relaxed, unobtrusive, friendly, reliable
What about your business are you most proud of?
the fact i have literally grown through word of mouth only, that surely is the best and most real form of trust as you can get and i have done it all on my own after years of pondering over whether i had what it would take to be sucessful in such a great industry full of fabulous individuals
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
don't feel you have to put on a show for everybody, as long as you and your partner end up married by the end of the day then surely that's as perfect as it could possibly get, oh and do not be afraid to ask suppliers questions, you need to make sure they are the right supplier for you :)
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
one couple had little polaroid pictures strung up literally everywhere, as a photographer i love photographs anyway but this was such a lovely way to decorate the venue and at the same time show guests exactly why they were there for the day, its all about the love between 2 people :)
Describe your typical process with a couple.
we usually start off with the initial consultation over a brew, this gives us all chance to discuss the day and the wants and needs of each couple, pre shoot is often the next step, this helps to ease any awkward posing tension on the day when the photographs begin, next is a venue visit to familiarise myself with the venue and spots perfet for the days shots, then the big day arrives, we usually stay from prep through to first dance then leave everybody tearing up shapes on the dancefloor! couples can choose to visit me for image viewings or have a personal gallery online, then we usually say our final 'c'ya' on album delivery ( with some choccys to show my gratitude that you chose me to capture your special day )
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
this is tricky, i absolutely love having time with just the couple, away from the venue and guests, after all its all about you 2 isnt it! so i would say a quiet intimate image of you both, but i do like the little details too, they are so easily forgotten about after the day is over, i like to look back at collages of all the special things that helped make the day...
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
i had a very fun couple who really did make their wedding all about what they wanted, which is great, they got married at a rugby stadium as it meant a lot to them and the teams mascot gave the bride away, he had a huge cartoon caricature style head and it was very surreal but looked fab!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
brollies and wellies, i love couples who don't let the weather spoil their day, what will be will be, make the most of what is given to you, go out and dance in the rain, its a one day only offer! if you really don't want to get your dress dirty there's always scope for indoor images if you have an eye for details....
Describe how you got into photography.
i have always been interested after my dad has been a hobbyist photographer since i can remember, but it was my very own husband to be that built my confidence up enough and surprised me with my first camera around 9 years ago to really give it a shot, with customers lovely words passed around i havent stopped since! :)
