What is your most memorable wedding?
The hottest day of the year is, the 19th of July 2022, Askham Hall. The groom was in a kilt with a thick tweed jacket which he refused to take off! The wedding was outside & when the ceremony was over all the guests ran inside to escape the 33 degrees heat, unheard off in Cumbria where the greatest fear on a wedding day is rain!

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Allowing enough time to go off for a stroll to take some couple portraits. It's probably the one chance you will get to have some time alone and you will be guaranteed to create some beautiful images.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Gosh, I can't think! I'll have to come back to you on that one. I get into all sorts of positions and spaces.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Be mindful of your venue. Are there options for when it's too wet to go outside? Has your photographer got examples of wet wedding photography? What is your plan for outside shots if it is raining? Are there porches or awnings which can be used? Check your photographer has suitable umbrellas, and invest in some nice boots/ wellies, and wraps. Think about the practicality of your dress, the type of material, have you got a veil? How will you feel if it gets wet? . Be flexible re timings. There is always a gap when it stops raining. It's your story, rainy days in my experience make my favourite photos.
Describe how you got into photography.
I have always loved taking photographs (since I could literally hold a camera!) A chance meeting with a photographer friend encouraged me to purchase some professional equipment. I started off with family and newborns, a friend trusted me with their wedding (I was terrified but realised I also really loved it!) 5 years later I have 4 cameras and 5 lenses, everything you need to cover every eventuality and some wonderful friends who I have made through my photography.
