John Leech Full Description
I enjoy photographing the full day, from getting ready right through to the last dance. Capturing the full event shows how the day develops and how the story unfolds. Nervous anticipation, emotions, joy and celebrations. I'm constantly looking for photographs which combine emotions and relationships. My photographs include posed shots and natural reportage moments, sometimes moments which nobody else noticed until they see the final pictures. I also like to capture the spirit of the location and the guests so that reviewing the set bring memories flooding back.

Frequently Asked Questions
(9)

What is your most memorable wedding?

They are all memorable, but the sounds of the Wallace and Gromit theme being played on a trombone and keyboard as the bride walked down the aisle will take some beating - if you ignore the wedding where their dog ate the cake!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Spontaneous emotional joy lively loveable

What about your business are you most proud of?

Enjoying each wedding is what I'm most proud of.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Build a comprehensive check list and prioritise services which may get booked months in advance.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I didn't see it, but I heard it - the brides brother composing the music medley for the brides walk down the aisle

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Discuss requirements and timing of the event, attend the rehearsal whenever possible. Turn up early, try and be as invisible as I can for the most part but take over when posed shots require organising. I keep my posing instructions as minimal as possible in order to keep a natural look to my photographs.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The must have shot is one that shows the couple's love for each others - whether that is during the service, posed shots, cutting cakes or dancing.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Don't hang around in the rain, get indoors as quick as you can!

Describe how you got into photography.

My dad was a keen amateur photographer so I've always had an interest. I've studied photography as part of my fine art foundation course and my graphic design degree.
