The aim is to provide you with a pretty, thorough visual story of your wedding day. I'll work hard to capture as much of the happy goings-on from the morning preparations up until your guests are hurling themselves around the dancefloor into the evening. I'll be in the background wherever possible, to get natural, reportage images of every part of your day. I'm happy to direct parts of the day that require some formality but will try, as much as possible, to leave you to enjoy the day with your guests & have the absolute best day.
I'm working for you & will operate as you wish on the day. We'd communicate as much as you'd like in the build-up (including a visit to your venue). Hearing about your plans & hopes for the day means I can help you to have the day you want as well as being in the right places at the right times to get the photographs that tell the story of the day.
I get some very generous feedback around being a good addition to the wedding day. I'll be lovely with your Mum, look after elderly guests, be good company for anyone that comes for a chat (everyone loves to talk photos/cameras it seems to me!) & will play along enough to get the photographs you'd like of your children in the wedding party. I try my best to be a pleasure to have around. I'll dress smartly & look like a guest, so as not to dilute your smartly-designed wedding! By the same token, importantly I think, I'm not looking to be your new best friend & I won't mither you all day & try & be part of your gang. I know you have dozens of close friends & family & I want you to enjoy your day with all of them as best you can & just be there to document that for you & tell the story of the day for you to look back on. I'm more than happy to organise folk & take control when i'm required to - group photos, family set-ups, organising half-cut guests to form a confetti tunnel, but i won't be the shouty, bossy photographer that thinks the day is about them; i'm not interested in that.
