What is your most memorable wedding?
I really loved Megan and Vicky’s wedding in Dalduff Farm. It was such a beautiful day. Crisp and wintery. Everything was so personal. They had a humanist celebrant, Susan, who was great. The farm had so many places for amazing photos.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, quirky, passionate, expressive, unique.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am most proud of being able to work with my partner. We get to see all of these amazing weddings and happy couples. It’s beautiful to see the love people have for each other. It’s really special being able to be a part of this amazing day and try and capture these moments in time allowing them to look back and have those happy memories over and over.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Pick people you like as suppliers and you would like to have on your day.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We did a wedding during lockdown and the groom’s dad couldn’t get to the wedding so zoomed in from Dubai.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I like to zoom or meet for a chat first to see if we get on. Then we discuss what you are looking for. On the day I like to work quickly. I try to get to the venue about an hour before the ceremony to catch your guests as they arrive. I take a mix of formal portraits and reportage more natural shots. My partner aims to get detail shots of the venue and is excellent at the reportage images.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
One together.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Hugging a tree. Bride looking out one side and the groom out the other side. Both holding Canadian flags.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
An umbrella.
Describe how you got into photography.
I took classes in high school at the local college. I still remember the first time I developed a film and made a print in the dark room. It was like magic. From there my love of photography grew.
