We had our wedding photography and videography booked with James Thundercliffe Photography for our wedding on 31st October 2022. It was the worst decision regarding our wedding that we made, if I could go back in time I absolutely would not use him again. Which is really disappointing because we’d previously had family photos with him and he’d provided a good service, which is why we chose him for the wedding.
In the day of the wedding his turned up over half an hour late, with no communication. One of the wedding guests actually had to try calling him to find out what was going on, he didn’t answer, but did turn up not long after.
We didn’t have any other issues on the day, but the problems quickly began after the wedding. I was having to constantly chase for updates, there was absolutely no communication at all from him. I kept getting told he was busy and working on our photos/video. When we did get our photos back we were fairly happy with them, which is why I’m so disappointed at what’s happened since.
I’ve been constantly chasing for our video and photo album, and 13 months later we still do not have them!! I’ve been chasing him regularly and just keep getting excuses that he needs more time etc etc. Our contract stated a time frame of between 6-8 months to receive everything. On the 27th August he sent me a link with an online video (I thought the link for the video was a private like our photos were, but he’s posted our whole entire wedding video on his public channel without permission, for everyone to see. This has all our guests and their children etc on it!). He also told me in the same message that the usb with the video was being posted, surprise surprise it never turned up. When I’ve asked for the tracking number he’s refused to give me it. He then told me that he was waiting for a refund from DPD because it was lost and would come back to me when he had got it. That was almost three weeks ago now.
I sent his a formal complaint last week (see screenshots). And have not heard from him since. This man has had £1600 of our money since September 2022. He has either turned off reviews on his Facebook page or blocked me, so I cannot leave a review on there. My Dad has commented on his posts to try and get some form of a response form him, but comments are either “hidden” or deleted.
I’ve spoken to Citizens Advice this week and have followed what they suggested, but again so far have had no response from this man. We are being left with no other option but to make a claim to the small claims court. This has caused so much stress and upset. I honestly cannot believe that he’s had all our money and has now taken to completely ignoring us.
